    ive been working both on mambo and joomla, all i can say.... easy if you are a developer but what about the end-user, sometimes when you turn over the site to your client that is not tech-savvy... and tendency NOSE BLEED jud ang client... because joomla is very TECHNICAL...

    joomla has some limitation same with wordpress.... thats why i end up creating my own platform and fill the limitations on those great platform...

    JOOMLA = easy if you are tech savvy and willing to learn those complicated features
    WORDPRESS - VERY EASY even if you are not a tech savvy... it has idiot proof UI... (oooppsss forgive my french...)

    actually naka d.L ko ug tutorials sa joomla by lynda..
    pero wala pa ko naka watch kay bz sa skol..
    working student man gud ko..
    and wala ko pc...

    errr.... not really majority of my friends nga developer here and abroad prefered to build from scratch than use joomla or wordpress... were old school...

    since they are opensource... the tendency of being hacked is high since the code is available for public consumption.. so bugs can be discovered and exploited... ever wonder why daghan spamming sa mga opensource nga blog, forum kaysa mga enterprise nga software...

    yes...even I, prefer to code from scratch or make my own framework..
    than to used joomla, wordpress or drpal...
    what i mean is, of the two (joomla & wordpress) i prefer, joomla...

    Nowadays starting from scratch is a pain the ass, as long you want to build your own site.. But what the advantage of CMS, you have the backbone already what you need is to skin it for your needs.
