In Europe, Middle East, America and Australia, the normal working days are only 5 days a week. Some of them use flextime and works on weekends. I personally want that our working days should only be 5 days a week for all private companies. They can extend on weekends by doing shifts for all I care. I'm been working on private companies before for 6 days a week and I still don't like the idea of a rest day which is a Sunday only.

So, I totally agree with Cong. Tom to have an 8-day holiday in December. So what if we have a lot of holidays. We are not getting richer anyway but the capitalist.

Don't ever believe that the capitalist losses a lot money for working only 5 days a week. Their losses wouldn't make them poor like us.

REP. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district) made good his promise in filing a bill that institutionalizes long holidays in December.

Osmeña recently filed House Bill 3152 or “An Act Declaring Dec. 25 to Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 as Special Non-Working Holidays.”

Take note, Dec 25, 30 and 31 are currently regular holidays. Then Tomas will convert it to a special holiday? Remember that regular and special holiday is very different.

dapat dungagan pa ang mga holidays... people on daily wage can benefit from this as well, by engaging in sideline businesses for the holidays... regular employess can destress themselved from work and can make them more productive... a happy employee is a productive employee... tanawa uban nasud, pwerteng daghana holidays, mas nindut pag lifestyle kesa sa US...

hahaha, Special Holiday ra man ang gi mention diha sa Bill ni Tomas. Dili na double pay oi. Plus 30% ra kung mo trabaho ka. Kung di ka mo trabaho, naa gihapon ka sweldo kung monthly paid ka, kung daily paid, no work no pay.
