    Default FEDERALISM. Now or never?

hmmm... pwede siguro mag federalism but e divide lang per region and not per province... think that would work. so each region would work for their own progress.

i doubt it if federalism will work in this country. with the kind of politicians we have? they could make this federalism turned into feudalism.

i will make myseilf clear. i wasn't proposing communism in here, if people are so sensitive(super) to sense that i was doing it. then paranoia comes to your nerves. i am only talking and trying (if ever there are some guys here to have a leg to break about the counter of communism) to differentiate ideas regarding on different systems. ang kapait diay so narrow minded the people here( some, not to mention kay obvious na kaayo sila)...what i want is, put your ideas, i will put my output then lets compare, as simple as that, usaon ang uban, ghimo man nga isyu, unya ang kapait dili maka defend sa ilang claim...haskana!

So arnel, please enlighten me about federalism beh, kay kadtong si jonciocon, kapos man ug logic about ani.

a strong central government is needed to regulate matters where some states harm other states or countries, especially other much larger areas.. which when applied to philippine setting, giving considerations to the kind of politics and character that common politicians and even citizens are displaying, i doubt if we could have one.. *sigh

huge problem with federalism is the wasteful duplication of government administration.. reduction in the size of government is one reason behind adopting such, yet the replication of the same administration in, for instance, a hundred states is certainly not a good example of efficiency..

another problem of federalism in a modern era (where people can move easily from state to state) is that the states would most likely compete with each other in an unproductive manner.. they try to offer the fewest benefits to their citizens to avoid attracting citizens from other states who would receive those benefits.. states also compete inefficiently by trying to attract companies by offering special tax relief to companies that hire large numbers of workers in their state.. which in turn also promotes inefficiency because the most efficient decision for the economy as a whole would be made without interference from varying taxation..

all that are being discussed here are quite right from their own point of view.. we could not really answer this question unless we had experienced how life with a federal kind of government... we could only give our best shot answering this topic..

Actually federalism is not an easy transition in our system of government that we are possessing today....it may under go different processes, different debate, critics and opposing views...like what we are doing right now we are conveying on "what can you say about federalism?" much of us has its own point of views...but asking how it works? it will be governed by different group of people, like Luzon Visayas and Mindanao, those places will be run by different heads, of which it has different point of views, different ideas, and different interests.... today we are adhering into one governing president, but what happeniong to us? we cannot stict into one implementation of policies... we governed with single policies, rules, and yet every one is finding way on how to cheat those policies.....speaking of corrupt people we had one president but we are all sufferring from currupt form of government....how much more if there are lot of people( the federal leaders) that can have a direct acces of our "philippine wealth" if we still have?..and one thing is will you think the people of this country will adhere to that policy? How much money will be disbursed just to pursue that experimental form of government to the Filipino community......
