Any updates on this? I went to their website and I have no idea what those numbers means..hehehe
Nevertheless, i'm really excited on what they are doing there and how it would change the world when they discover Higgs boson.

they should not be calling it the 'god particle'. nothing 'godly' about it (except that it allows you to have mass).![]()
“What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we cant decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish.” - Chuck Palahniuk
so what this so called god particle are capable of?
CERN discovers Higgs-like boson - physicsworld.com
They definitely discovered a new particle and quite certain it's a Boson and is likely to be the Higgs. It requies a lot more measurements, analysis, and of course time as is always in particle physics.
For those, who tried to watch the presentations from the CMS and ATLAS guys, don't even bother trying to understand. I don't even understand much of it. I suggest you watch the presscon. https://cdsweb.cern.ch/record/1459604 It's very informative for the general public.![]()

Agree. Another major feat by mankind.
July 4, 2012 is the day the universe changed. Everyone in the Scientific community got excited by the news of this latest discovery. Physicists at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) announced the discovery of the Higgs boson, the most important scientific discovery of the 21st century. Period.
The Higgs boson creates an invisible field that permeates throughout all of space. The fast particles, such as photons, barely interact with the Higgs field and don’t gain any mass. But particles that are much slower in their speed gain mass as they interact with the Higgs bosons, thus creating the atomic elements that make up stars and planets and you and me.

To anyone unaware of how this particle works... here's a simple scenario:
Imagine your class of 50 students in a small room. And suddenly a major celebrity enters, all students flock at him/her asking for photograph and hugs/kisses, thereby creating a huge mass of humans conglomerated together. That's equivalent of one particle( celebrity) going through a field ( Classroom), the moment that particle enters, the surrounding particles are attached to it creating mass. That mass becomes what we call the Universe.
Now, is the explanation of how the Universe was created based on the Bible's teaching suddenly becomes null and void because of this scientific breakthrough? Or is it only supplementing but in a different way.
With this new discovery, would there would be no God?, No Big Bang theory?, no Universes created by supreme being's body parts and etc...(According to Norse folklore) ?
Your opinion? I'm neutral about this topic, so set your bashes aside.

Study long, study wrong.
i dont think this discovery disprove or Prove the teachings in the Bible. The scientific experiments purpose is to Prove HOW it is Made NOT WHO made it. Layu ra kaayu. If Science can explain something it does not mean that theres NO God who created it.
And Also the Bible does Not explain the creation Scientifically, its a narrative experience/story based on what the writer understand when he wrote that book.
Kini nuon: If ang Science maka prove nga makakita sila ug Espirito nya nasuroy nah nila physically ang tanang suok sa universe pero wa Juy Ginoo nakit-an nila - kana murag naa pay chance.![]()
The existence of spirits leans greatly that there is a God (Who is also a Spirit) because these spectral entities are not part of the physical universe, nature and are not observable (enough) to be in science. They'll have to make something that can cross unobserve dimensions to accomplish that feat. which is impossible.
