yeah, the addictive word is very much true for serious overclocker
so how do you classify a serious overclocker?
whats the criteria?

excessive heat is due to overclocking and it kills cpu so im not really into overclocking.
Well, it's ok as long as you can cool it down. Use water cooling and if you want it even cooler. Add a peltier with it. Another option is the Vapochill. They're very expensive. I think they're around $900.00 - over $1000.00. You can find some used one on http://www.ebay.com
You can over clock not just the CPU but the Video Card and memory but you have to choose which one. Not too many Video Card is capable of over clocking. Example: The Asus NVidia GeForce 6800 is a perfect GPU to overclock. Don't even try to overclock other video card or else you'll end up screwin it up. Once you over clocked a video card, there is no turning back. They said there is a way but that is beyond us already.
That is one expensive setup. $800.00 just for the video cards alone and another $200.00 for the mobo. 1000.00 bucks just for the motherboard and GPU. Wheew!!! Shiet, that is bitchin!!!
vaporchill costs $500,brand new.
you can overclock the CPU,memory and videocard all at the same time and not just one at a time.they all can be overclocked and running stable at the same time.
you can overclock a videocard and still be able to turn it back to its stock speeds.
@allnite..im wondering where youre getting your infos cause its very misleading.
Maybe your an Asus fan boy. hehe. The Asus NVidia GeForce 6800 is a perfect GPU to overclock
I dont know about asus videocards all I know is that its quite expensive compared to other cards but with lesser or equal performance, to Saphire, Gigabyte, and GeCube.
But in MOBO overclocking ASUS sucks, because of its trademark limited voltage options.
the best OCing MOBO rather are DFI(the best) and Epox, get it. BRO?
Asus mobos dont suck, they actually work best on intel chips, they suck on amd though dunno why. the only thing i hate about asus is thier price. damn it, its just soooo expensive.
@brown_dog - asus videocards are top performers, google for benchmarks on a videocard series and youll see that asus holds "majority" not all on the performance meter. :P
