@undercover_lover: to answer ur question and making it short, there's really no "trigger" for HIV to become AIDS. but rather, HIV which is the virus, could cause infections in the body which then results to AIDS. and one point that i would like to bring out is that, people don't die from the virus itself, but from the fact that the immune system is not capable enough of guarding itself from certain diseases. that's why most likely than not, people with AIDS die from illnesses such as TB, pneumonia, etc... etc..

You forgot to read the last paragraph. Condom campaigns have NEVER been proven to be effective.
not because condoms do not prevent the HIV virus, but because condoms simply aren't used properly, or perhaps they are not even used at all!

as that report suggests, abstinence may be effective only if people abstain from having irresponsible *** altogether. that isn't the case either.

Again, read the report. Condoms ARE used. But in the end, whether because of their method of application and/or because of the false sense of security they bring about, the end result is that they are INEFFECTIVE on a mass scale. That's the bottom line.

As for abstinence, a campaign streessing it has been shown to work in Uganda. That's the real evidence on the ground.
