there's a ring light & there's also a ring flash. two different things but their name is used interchangeably. just want to point that out.

yes, ring light effect all the same. my post intention is the distinction of the means and what's available out there. like -

i have no pretentions on having any mastery in any part of photography. uyamot ra gyud ko nga point&shoot cam user. ni tampo rako sa akong gamay nga kaalam nga nang hinaot nga maka tabang sa nangutana(TS). daghan ko ug nakat-onan ninyo diri mga masters, jedis, og mga nyors. pwede ra gyud ko gani nga tigpayong ninyo ug tigpahid o tigpaypay ba sa inyo shoots para lang makakat-on ko ug photography techniques gikan ninyo.

i really have no other intention or agenda other than just trying to help fellow newbies like me whenever i can with my little knowledge. that has always been my outlook about forums - helping one another/ sharing knowledge & ideas. period.

once again, my apologies if my posts were either or in all unhelpful, offensive, & intimidating.

ring flash ex. alienbees ringflash, broncolor, profotos, elinchrom, macro ringflash

ring flash adapters ex. orbis, rayflash, ebay ringflash (those in pixelpro)

but in the end, they pretty much do the same thing.. create ring-shaped light sources, they only differ in size, power and how you intend to use them
