737NG vs. A320 family? I'd Choose A320
A330 series vs. 767? I'd Choose A330
A340 series vs. 777? I'd Choose 777
between 787 and A380... it's not comparable at all.
it should be 787 vs. A350 and 747-800 vs. A380

mao sad..the dreamliner is definitely not comparable to the A380...but....why all these comparisons? all those planes are great ones....pero personally, i love how airbus made their instrument panel arrangement to be similar in every aircraft model to lessen time of training when pilots go for another airbus rating...
Embraer vs Bombardier napod
For me, the best office to work with is in the Airbus... medyo cramped kayo tan-awon ang 737... maski man gani lang Flight Sim...![]()
I was reacting to Qyztina, who said, "in reality, BOIENG is the BEST compared to AIRBUS and other obsolete aircrafts..."
The way the sentence was constructed made me think she was referring to products not company, even though no mention of specific aircraft models was made.
Boom_box and cptstar: you're correct in pointing out Airbus' superior cockpit design philosophy, not only from a training cost standpoint but safety as well. Boeing claims 777 pilots can easily cross-qualify for the 787. Yet I've tried out the 787 cockpit mockup, which had working avionics, flight controls and all, and it is different from the 777. For one thing the displays are totally different. The pilots' instrument scan will have to be modified between both aircraft.
The system architecture is also different. The 787 uses the electrical system for some things that were done with pneumatics before. The plane no longer has a power-robbing bleed system to power air-conditioning packs and anti-ice systems. The 777 still has a bleed system. Pilots have to learn to operate both and train for their (very) different operational and failure modes.
Sure any pilot can fly both the 777 and 787 but would it be wise? It is certainly a bigger jump than, say, the A320 vis-a-vis the A330. With Airbus, instrument scan will be largely unchanged and pilots know where to find all the switches because the cockpits are nearly identical. And pilots just love the sidestick and folding table on Airbuses!

airbus cockpits would be a great office for me someday...haha...
by the way this is how the 787 cockpit looks like...
i like the HUD and the new concept of the instrument panel and also the larger screens....
but this is the airbus A350's cockpit
looks the screens might be smaller than those of the dreamliner but they are very well arranged in a manner that is the same as the arrangement on other airbus models...and it also has an HUD to reduce heads-down time...looks more like a space shuttle cockpit to me...hehehe...
by the way, here's the size comparison of the dreamliner and the xwb

naunsa naman ni oi. hehehehe. puro naman ni agument about this. ai dah, wa dyapon mo mabuhat. kay at the end of the day, ordinaryo ra dyapon mong tawo. wa mo sapi ikapalit anang mga butanga. hehehehe. wether who is better or not, the point is we should be thankful for the opportunity to be born in an era of technologies nga nakagamit ta and naka experience ta aning mga butanga.
more thankful for the people who have thought about these things that inspired inventors to improve such a technology. di na na angay argue.han oi.
post nako ang cutaway poster sa 787 from flightglobal.com...i could really notice the technological advancement applied on the dreamliner by just looking on the wings alone...
here's an additional information on the people behind the dreamliner...
