Here's some tips to Share and access folder in win7.Hope this will be the solution to Dammy and Lazaro4ever.In fact win7 is great!well, dont be confused with dialog box that will popup in ur screen asking username and password, thats an authentication. mind you win7 is more secure if you compare with previous windows.

make it sure the (user)account your using has a administrative rights to share folders or your member of administrators, coz in windows 7 a lot of restrictions. A lot of ways to share a folder. one of this, You can just right click the folder itself and go to properties, then you will see 6 tab menu, chose SHARING TAB click ADVANCED SHARING tab below, then check the check box(Share this folder), then you will see a PERMMISSIONS tab below click that tab then you will see EVERYONE,highlight it and change the permissions for EVERYONE to FULL CONTROL.

To access the shared folder over the network, use UNC,like for example: you have two computers running VISTA and WIN7, and you shared a folder from your Win7, in your Vista Comp just go to start menu and click RUN and type \\computer name(you want to connect to\folder name....this is a very basic way.

Note: Make it sure that the two computers has connectivity, configure the TCP/IP, turn off the firewall both computer if your using vista and Win7,you have administrative rights(member of administrator or administrator).
