managing a terminal may sound simple and a no-brainer but behind the scenes it really needs a specialized qualification or experience, just like running a restaurant or hotel.
That's one question that I would like to ask him myself. Even a former military top brass would find his hands full in running this kind of show.

    Controlled entry tests passengers’ patience

CROWDS of south-bound passengers lined up for hours outside the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT), as guards regulated entry to keep the lines inside orderly and prevent people from filling up the buses’ parking bays.
As the crowd grew outside the entrance of the CSBT, the tempers of commuters flared.

However, CSBT officials said they had to limit the entry of passengers into the terminal to prevent them from spilling into the parking bay.
Tining Bacaltos, 34, of Barangay Simala, Sibonga told Sun.Star Cebu he and his wife waited for more than three hours under the sun, just to get inside the terminal.
“Naunsa na man ni sila, nganong wala man ni nila gitarong ug paghan-ay? (Why didn’t they organize this properly?) They should have put up railings or barriers to organize the lines outside,” said Bacaltos.
Melissa Momongan, 29, of Argao, Cebu said a commotion nearly erupted when the lines got disorganized. She said the queue was uncomfortable and it was so hot that her two-year-old daughter, Mimi, cried from exhaustion.
Amid the numerous complaints, Eva Encabo, CSBT administrator, said the management was more concerned about the welfare of those already inside the terminal, since this would also affect the situation of those waiting outside.
Because the waiting sheds were packed, Encabo said, the management had no choice but to limit the entry of passengers to the terminal, to keep them from spilling into the parking bays.
The Provincial Government has recently started collecting an entrance fee of P5 per passenger, for the maintenance of the terminal’s renovated waiting areas. (JKV)

Why didn't Byron expect this kind of problem? The problem with Byron is, he converted the entrance area into food shops and rented the space to Calda Pizza, Jo Joes, etc. For lack of a covered sidewalk to shelter a queueing crowd, he should have left that place vacant (or as a foyer) to accommodate commuters.

Also, it is best that bus operators would set up a booking office to sell their tickets outside the bus terminal to help decongest the area. These booking offices should hook up their PCs to the terminal's database and, automatically, assign seats and priority numbers to the paying commuter and all the commuters do is pay the P5 entrance fee and wait for their assigned bus and ETD inside the waiting lounge.

one thing i don't like though is the P5 terminal fee.

gimaximize ang profit instead maximize ang area sa lugar to accomodate the commuters...
they are more up to money than giving the people comfort.... perto jud ron gubota, labi na gahapon na pwerte kasakay... pero kahibaw nata daan, naa gihapon sila alibi para ani...
