Marcos dreamed of Filipinos building their own cars. The utility vehicle program was started on his time with the Ford Fierra as the first model. He insisted that the country must start into an integrated steel industry which the National Steel in Iligan was supposed to cater the needs of the country's demand for metal products. He embarked on the idea of the the Philippines going nuclear.
he also innitiated philippine missile program... and a series of SRDP...
Marcos taught discipline---there was curfew...
initiated a nuclear program?
yeah... built bataan nuclear plant ON A FAULT LINE! somebody got really rich on that project. And even if it was mothballed... we are still paying Westinghouse for that!
yep, he was genius, tan-aw nako si imelda rai nagdala ug lawgaw ato tungod sa ambisyon....
i heard sa news nga ang Philippines kay gahi kaayo in terms of military defense, kahadlokan sa una tungod sa mga fighter planes mura ug lion sa asia pero karon, kung di tungod sa US, gikan sa lion mahimo tang kuting....^^
grabe pud ng abilidad ni marcos. he was able to defend himself from a murder conviction (law student pa lang siya). and pass the bar while he was in prison. ngilngig gyud si marcos. pero... unsaon ta man. si imelda man nag dala ug lawgaw oi!
The whole of PHilippines rests on the so called Ring of Fire...so maingon nato nga in general ang kinatibuk-an sa Pinas naa sa fault line. But until now wa man lagi mag linug sa Bataan. Wa man sad lagi ni crack ang na mothballed nga planta. But it doesn't matter. Ang atong gihusgutan ang idea man. Duna man gud giingon bro nga:
Great people talk about vision.
Average people talk about things.
Small people talk about other people.
No we are no longer paying. Naimpas na.And even if it was mothballed... we are still paying Westinghouse for that!
nice things to say about marcos:
- he initiated the most number of massive infrastructure projects (i.e roads, bridges, dams, centers, etc.)
- one of the very few leaders who give impromptu speech in international conventions i.e. in United Nations Summit etc.,
