    some must sees and tips:

    1. the grand palace - a day tour. wear closed shoes and no sleeveless or spaghetti straps (do this to avoid renting clothes pa outside). u may also like to wear a hat kay init sigeg lakaw lakaw.

    2. chatuchak weekend market - tiange buy like crazy. wear comfy shoes and light clothes. u don't need to buy everything you see, hehehe.

    3. patpong - the red district of bkk. for sale items are like the ones in chatuchak market but more pricey. further down, naa na ang mga hubo hubo shows. if possible, take a local friend with you when going inside these shows coz the staff could charge you like crazy.

    4. chao praya dinner cruise - my favorite. dinner while cruising at the chao praya river. enjoy the scenic night view of the city of the "vienna of the east". romantic enough for lovers and fun enough for barkada.

    5. the malls, bars, and all the drills of urban living - if you wanna check them out, too

as for the travel agency/tours, my trips there were 'business' (company accommodations, personal suroy, etc.) so wala ko ka experience ani except one day, during a week-long conference trip, nga my boss and i decided to take advantage of a day tour (freebie sa among ticket purchase). ug nakaingon ko sa akong self nga di naku mo usab ug tours by travel agency hehehe kay commercialized kaayo. stressful nga naay mag sigeg mandar, mag storya, mang hadlok nga biyaan ka, hehehe. i realized nga i enjoyed it better when i saw bangkok or whatever country that might be on own pace. although i understand this takes a lot of adventure spirit too and some money adjustments. yet i feel that i would still do my travels on my 'own'. just my preference.

    you enjoy your trip!!!

    for the tickets, adams travel.

for the hotel, the 'free hotel' stays were foregone coz we always had to stay at hotels near our office there, or where the conferences/meetings were held...

suan lom? the night market? yeah we did! i'd describe it as the smaller, more sosi version of chatuchak. and the prices are not that mahal so you could still enjoy shopping. i think you would like it there too.

boy ka or girl? hehehe. nah, i just thought you would love to splurge in wacoal bras there (if you're a girl or even a boy buying gifts for a girl!) coz they're really cheaper there and found in any department store.

@aditti - i have been to thailand many times...if you wanna go to market for shopping...enough na kaayo nang chatuchak market gi recommend ni @d...it is the biggest...pero only on weekends...

the biggest gold buddha is also in bangkok (not as famous as the Palace) but it is worth seeing....i also took a day trip and went to visit the floating market...very interesting...

another day trip and we rode elephants...di man ko nahan mo ride elephants in the city so ni adto jud mi sa bukid and did it with naturea around us...pina labang2 pa ug river

if you wanna see muay thai ( kick boxing - parehas gani atong sa blood sport) ...ok sad

there is a very tall building in bangkok...nalimot ko sa name....the city view from above was breath taking...this is a MUST go place in my opinion...but dili puede mag shorts or slippers...so try to dress up a little when you go....absolutely beautiful...ang bar sus nindot jud....you can probably have dinner there one night....

try the authentic thai massage...adto jud sa temple...kay mao man jud na ang original school for that massage....

ayuttaya is also nice to visit...morag ruins kintahay.....

pila man ka ka days didto?? oh i have a thread dire sa destinations Geishas...Angkor..Elephant Massage ang title...check it out...i think i posted a few pics of bangkok

on shopping...Thai SILK is absolutely gorgeous

Ive never been to BANGKOK for the reason na I was port visiting sa PHUKET and PATTAYA lang . A lot of people who went to BANGKOK said it is comparable to going to MANILA and thosPhuket n Pattaya are like Cebu or Bohol and if you really wanted a VACATION in terms of relaxation , shopping and tour ... those 2 places ive mentioned are worth the try if you visit Thailand . I myself wanted to go to BANGKOK because ive never been there after I visit PHUKET and PATTAYA again if finance and time allows me to do so .
