Both are excellent guard dogs of the medium size breeds .

Both are easy to maintain, smart and alert .

The temperament depends on the pedegree and the breed has nothing to do with it . I have a Dobie here in Cebu and a Rottie in the US . Both are silent killers to the right people of bad intent . The only time they bark is when they are threatened and that is their reaction , to intimidate .

Mas active lang ang DObie thus the frame suggestively portrays thats why its tall and slender while Rotties are short and bulky . Hinay ang Rottie when it comes to agility while it has a stronger and powerful bite while the DObie has a bigger bite .

BOth dogs needs big yards and daily exercise and conditionning . It all really depends on your preference and budget and the purpose why you want to acquire a Dobie or a Rottie . I dont know also how true but from what Ive heard in the US , once you had you Rottie for schutzhund training , its gonna be a lifetime commitment otherwise by the time na 2 years old and up and inactive na ang training sa ka Rottie na ni agi ug schutzhund training ma praning daw . Not sure of it though , just heard it in a doggshow from a group of people who owns Rotties also where I used to hang out with since I myself owned a Rottie .

Trivia - A dobie can always be a Rottie while a Rottie will never be a Dobie . One of the ancestors of the DOberman Pinshers is the Rottweiler to include also the Greyhound , Old German Sheperds , German Pinschers and Great Dane . It is the real ALL AROUND GUARD DOG that bears the intelligence of the German Sheperds , the agility and stamina of the greyhound , the structure and frame of a Dane , the alertness of the Pinschers and the strength of the Rotts .

Akong DObie saba ra siya if kakita ug ilaga ( hadlokan , it shows that he knows rats are more deadly than the NIle alligator bite ) hehehehe but if offleashed siya sa property , I dont find any reason why cge ug paghot .

yes u r ryt wen u said either rottweiler or dobberman they are both ticking time bomb. all dogs are small or large.

yes u r also ryt when u said it depends on how you train your dog.

and both breed are intelligent breeds in fact dob is smarter dan rott.

but if i will be ask to choose, i will choose the rott.

in my whole entire life, i have already taken good care of more dan 6 rottweilers. some wer very aggressive but i was able to tame them and some are naturally gentle even with kids.

and they dont bite directly they always give a warning jst in case naa sila nahan i bite hehe. and they are so good in making people laugh

and you cant see dobberman dogs that are used to comfort sick people in hospitals but rotts, there are a lot

my second rottweiler i gave to my mother and now they are best friends and my mother loves him very much and he is very big but my mother can walk him off lease

and recently i took good care of my friends rott na giant also na maldito at first but after few trainings and tender loving care he is gentle as a lab but confident and machu as always as a rott.

so i'd go for rott i love rott.
