here's the morgan stanley contact info taken from your e-mail: (take a closer look at the area code)

and here's a screenshot of morgan stanley's website: (now take a look at the contact phone and compare)

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR CLUE THAT IT'S A SCAM!!!

I would have said a lot of nasty things to the TS but adding insult to injury is not my cup of tea.

Here's some points to ponder aside from the glaring and very obvious details of said e-mails:

    • there are more than 600,000 Americans filing claims for unemployment benefits and none of them can fill-up even one of the 5 spots that are needed? really?? click me

    • why would an American firm like Morgan and Stanley outsource jobs when: (1) it's too much of a hassle processing for worker's visa (2) local competent workforce is abundant because of mass layoffs due to the recession.

    • if you check their website and compare the list taken from the e-mail, you don't find these job openings in (red): click me

    DATA ENCODERS
    OFFICE PERSONNELS /OFFICE STAFF
    Admin. Assts/Clerks
    Accounting Staff
    IT Staff
    Programmers
    Call Centers Staff
    Graphic Artists
    Company Staff
    WEB DESIGNERS
    • what company would waste their money sending individuals to NYC for "final training" when there are a number of offices that are closer like China, Japan and Hong Kong? click me

    • by checking the e-mail dates (5/27/09), pre-training dates (6/20/09) and final training in NYC (last week of June) there's just no way for an H1B visa application to be approved in less than 7 days for hired individuals to travel to NYC for "final training".

    • what about these fishy e-mail addresses?

    HRdept@morganstanley.com
    reservation@morganstanley.com

what's up with the bogus explanation why they end up using yahoo e-mail accounts:

both are currently over quota. Due to big file attachments of applicants’ email. Thus, company email inbox has given-up and encountered error in receiving email attachments because the capacity of the company website email inbox is limited only. That's why there are some attachments were received by the head office and others were not. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I've been waiting for that day when enterprising Filipino copycats finally takes heed and gets the idea from Nigerian scammers, take this science (scamming) into their own hands and receive money from unsuspecting individuals. That day has come in a hurry.

This has been a Nigerian scam M.O. for decades, why not get a piece of the pie from them right?
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

@TS pwede kuhaon nimo sa SunStar ang info sa bogus ad poster?
Does Sunstar verifies all of their job ad posters?

    @TS/All,
Another point that an email is a scam is the Salutation. Scam emails will likely state "Dear Applicant", "Dear Account User", "Dear Friend", "Dear Email User" and the likes.

As a general rule to do to avoid being scammed (in addition to Sol_Itaire and omad), here's some tips to ponder:
    • do a thorough research about the company (going to their website will help a lot). If they don't have a website, then searching or posting to Career Center section about a certain company (comments or feedback) will also help. Or use Google to search for company's info.
    • check the sender's email address (a company/financial firm will definitely NOT going to use yahoo accounts)
    • if doubt, search the email's message on the web for possible scams

Obviously, this scam is not connected on the company involved. Swindlers/Scammers are just using the company's name to lure applicants and get instant bucks.

This had victimized Filipinos over the years and this sh*t still exists! From JP Morgan and now its Morgan Stanley. How would you feel if you are on the side of this anonymous poster? (sorry if this is posted)
