If you are serious about "gaming" in your topic title, you NEED a mechanical keyboard. Those lights and everything else that comes with all these gaming keyboards are nothing but a distraction. Get the Das Keyboard ... and if you want to learn to type, get Das Keyboard Ultimate. Honestly if you didn't like the Steelseries, you probably are looking for more a "hey look at my keyboard" effect and not for a serious gaming keyboard. I suggest you try Christmas lights with a flash and/or random setting.

If it was all about the bling2x and such i would have already bought the keyboard with the most lights, lcd's and most expensive. because its mechanical, it means its the best for gaming ? that is very wrong, there are many gamers in the world that don't even use mechanical keyboards and have won and defeated people using mechanical keyboards in gaming events.

Yes Steel-Series 7g is mechanical and used in some gaming events, so it should be the best for serious gamers ? no it's not, There's also a-lot of other keyboards that are in gaming events and used by championship teams & players like Logitech G15, Razer Lycosa, Microsoft Sidewinder X6, Saitek Cyborg, etc. and most are not mechanical.

One of the main reasons i didn't purchase Steel-Series 7G is because lacks keybindings, macro keys(which i really need especially when i play MMO's), and 7G lacks tons(when i mean tons, a whole lot) of features for gaming which all other cheaper keyboards have.

Lastly of all its extremely expensive, for what it offers. Although 7g has very nice mechanical switch mechanisms, sturdy construction.

Btw, DAS not available in the Philippines, If you suggest ordering then that would become expensive as-well.

I dont believe cost is an issue here looking at your overkill motherboard and PSU, the cost of this keyboard is merely loose change. ATP style lang gud

    @ Topic

I wonder if the real professional gamers like Fatality can perform significantly better with a Steelseries / Das in comparison to a regular full speed USB 2.0 keyboard.

@andz ... you are using this for MMOs? Then why are you specifically looking for a gaming keyboard? Gaming keyboards are about performance. If you want macros, yes you can get a gaming keyboard for the gaming cred, but an office keyboard with macro support would work just as well, and probably better for your needs. I played in one of the top WoW guilds in the world for years and my G15 v1 was just taking up space. It did not make me a better warlock. It did not help me raid better.

As for professional gamers, ask them what they use, then ask them who sponsors them, ask them who gives them gear. Then ask them what they would buy if they were to spend their own money. Razer and Logitech might make great peripherals, but no one is going to argue that DAS and Steelseries make better, more durable, and longer lasting keyboards.

@Earlz, even for simple MMOs, you notice a difference when you use sub-standard keyboards. The most common problem is the small buffer when one is bashing keys to hell when spamming shadow bolt.

Vern: just because it didn't help you play better, it doesn't mean everyone is going to be the same. I never said Das and SteelSeries aren't durable nor doesn't last long. Yes my guild in World of Warcraft is the #1 in raiding in Alliance Faction @ Blackrock Server, Elementium Guild. Some people don't use macro's some do! it depends on each persons play-style. I do Raiding and Arena, i am one of those who got to 2200 rating using macro's a-lot.

I actually know a-lot of people who went into WCG, Euro League and stuff, and most of them use G11, G15V2, Lycosa. Most of them think the same thing about 7G, it lacks many features, macro keys, and very expensive. There are lots of teams who got sponsored by SteelSeries, letting them have 7G/Laser Mouse yet they still use there old Keyboards.

It depends on each person, it will be different per person, i already tried 7G in real life, and i didn't like it but that's my opinion and that's my choice.

This is like asking people if Logitech G5/G9 is better then Razer DeathAdder lol.

Anyway this is my last post concerning 7G. thanks

my vote goes to logitech G15...

M$ keyboard - the 2 big round knob makes this fugly, plus the removable numpad just makes it worst.

Razer Tarantula - i could have voted for this one, since they change the design of the arrow keys and removing the crtl key there made it less desirable to me.

Razer Lycosa - i dont like slim keypads. i want standard. everything standard. it's a lot comfortable.

which leaves me to Logitech G11 or G15.
Logitech g15 has an extra wristpad entension. +1 to logitech g15.

    final vote - Logitech G15.
