help on dog training

We have several dogs in our house. We have a Golden Retriever, Labrador, Minipin and a Pitbull, we rescued because the previous owner was into dog fighting. These dogs have different temperaments, Our Golden retriever is a very soft dog, who doesnt accept being corrected - even just raising your voice, she lowers her head and submits but she is also the easiest to teach. On the other hand, we have the Pitbull - she has bitten two kids and killed two chickens already, I guess that was the effect of her days in the fighting arena (i wish the previous owner will be put in the ring and have him fight somebody). My husband trains dogs based from what weve experience right in our own backyard, he said "You cant call yourself a dog trainer if you havent trained the softest and the hardest dog". Until now, he still doesnt want to call himself a dog trainer, apprentice pa lang daw.

i can truly say that you and you husband did really an awesome job to your dogs two thumbs up for you mam and your dogs. mam just wanna ask if you dont mind, ive heard bout pibulls are fighting dogs do we really have that here? i mean there's dog fighting here in cebu mam>? and one more thing. since your dog was into fighitng before and had sad hisotry, were you really able to change the attitude of the dog mam? i mean wow, that s really hard to do mam esp cguro to pitbulls who by nature are fighting dogs. much more he/she was trained to fight.

Yes, they have it here, its in Mandaue, its illegal thats why not too many people know about it. Sadly, a sibling of my Pitbull died days after fighting in the ring. Actually, i dont watch those stuff cause to me its just barbaric. My Pitbull came from a line of fighters, a line they say that came from a Mayor from the South, who maybe is also into dog fighting.

I can't really say Ive totally changed her, but she has improved a lot. She used to be agressive with Goats and Chickens but has improved tremendously to the point she just dont look at them anymore nor bark, but i still dont trust her. Shes not agressive with other dogs but with an exception..... she hates dogs with mange, maybe it has something to do during her fighting days. I still watch her when we have kids around although she doesnt show any agression at all.

When you look at my pit, shes not very pretty. Shes got allergies, scars and a bit of mange but I find her very smart, sweet and loyal. The only one I can trust to guard our place.

its hard to watch those mam. it can hurt you emotionally. since dog lover jud gud ka. ah ic. at least you were never afraid to pet that kind of dog imu haws especiallly that you have kids at home. ah ok, but why dont you treat the dogs with the infections. let me ask mam? are you keeping them in one place? or sepaerate cages? how about when they eat, inside cage or outside?

Siren Bane, everything you said is true! Hand salute ko nimo! You and your husband did a very good thing in rescuing those dogs. You mean to say that the Golden Retriever, Labrador, Minipin and a Pitbull all came from one bad owner? I enjoyed reading your posts and your advices.

What do you use to treat the Mange of your Pitbull? kaluoy gud. Ang mga neighbors nako here have dogs and they have Mange. Naglagot lagi ko because instead of treating them, they just leave them in the streets! tawgun ra inig pakaunon. Nahadlok ko matakdan ako mga dogs. That's why dili ko maka walk in that side of the street. Since budget man and wala kaayo pakialam to spend for their dog, I told them to buy Dr. Wongs Sulfur Soap. Ingon pud sila "ah mao ba? Mao ra ba na amuang sabon pud dinhi sa balay." toinks. Mag-share na lang sila sa ilahang gipasagdan nga doggies.

Not all types of Mange are contagious man, pero maluoy gyud ko sa ilahang dogs.
