You better pray that history will not repeat itself. In every major wars we had the precedence was always a worldwide economic downturn.

wa na... mahimo na ni'ng gallery sa mga animé fanatics. hahaha...

but for me, as long as soon as that satellite lifts off the face of the earth, North Korea can do pretty much anything they want with it. knowing that this country isn't all that "friendly" and popularly referred to as hostile, then i'd have the jitters too.

It can only be referred to as a satellite if it achieves a stable orbit between 120 (LEO) and 36,000 km (Geostationary) above the earth's surface, and by that we mean achieving a speed of no less than 7.7 kilometers per second, or 28,000 kph. Anything less than that, and you don't have a satellite, since the object will fall back into the earth. This is what Japan is worried about. Even if indeed, the Nokor satellite is a true satellite, the fact that you have to launch EASTWARDS in order to reach LEO or GEO, naturally, the country that lies on the path of this route would be Japan...

...ergo, if Taiwan or the Philippines were east of North Korea, we'd be also worried, even if the Nokor satellite was indeed a true satellite, and if we question the capabilities of the Nokor rocket scientists.

So what have you learned in today's lesson children?

    a) You CANNOT launch a rocket westwards and expect to attain orbit velocity (you'd be going opposite the rotation of the earth!)

    b) When you launch a rocket directly upwards, it will and can reach space, but NOT orbit the earth (thing will fall back down straight to you!).

    c) Any country east of another country trying to launch a rocket is in peril of acquiring debris from a rocket/satellite failing to reach orbit.

Bisan aha na paligoy-ligoy ang istorya in this thread, unya kani raman ang simpleng issue, and problema sa Japan.
