hey there,
writing from hamburg germany
so happy to be on tour.
i was just thinking to myself, as i drove past the HUGE windmills on the way here from oslo that i am happier than i have ever been on tour.
i think touring when i want to, rather than when others say i "should" has made a big difference.
taking care out here while i travel also makes a huge one. (i have friends, massage, plenty of alone time, sleep, good food, my dog, taking care of my body and health--all helps)
the other day, while in olso, my friends cynthia and brian and i were all eating breakfast when we heard some serious joyful noise coming from the distance.
i followed it to find some people with their children outside this door.
we asked what was going on in there and they said "come join us!"
and the next thing you know we're in this room with predominantly african american people who are singing and dancing at the top of their sweet gospel lungs.
i was blissing out.
we stayed for the whole service, with my replacing "disobedience of god" into "turning away from source" at every turn. (semantics changing feeds my ability to absorb many religious writings and sermons in a way i wasn't able to in the past).
nothing better than being in that room with all these people, dancing and singing about gratitude for spirit.
i left laughing about how life works.
i left LA on a note of wanting to create a sanctified version of sunday again...with my post-catholic turning-away-from-mass-ness...i still felt a hankering to commune with the divine, so to speak, on sundays (sabbath!) and i didn't really have something tangeible to do on those days until the last year or so.
whether it's services in the many non-denominational places i've gone to, or dancing, or wandering into services in oslo, i see that it's now being fully manifested as the sundays i'd always dreamed of recapturing..with variety to boot!
so many ways to go within and to connect...nature, silence, group meditation, writing, dancing, services....the list goes on.
i can't wait to touch on as many as i can, and create new ones as i go.
have a great week
so with you
looking foward to seeing many of you out here as i travel
xoxoxo
