    arrgh..there are lots of features in XP-32bit that are not supported in x64..


    Features Not Supported in WindowsXP 64-Bit Edition

    A number of features in WindowsXP Professional are not included
    with WindowsXP 64-Bit Edition. The following is a list of these

    Subsystems and Protocols

    WindowsXP 64-Bit Edition does not provide support for a number of
    older subsystems and transport protocols, including the following:
    Microsoft® MS-DOS® subsystem
    OS/2 subsystems
    16-bit subsystems
    Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX (POSIX) subsystem
    Legacy transport protocols
    Internetwork Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange
    (IPX/SPX) LAN and WAN
    AppleTalk Protocol LAN
    Services for Macintosh
    Data Link Control (DLC) LAN
    NetBIOS Enhanced User Interface (NetBEUI) LAN

    Mobile Computing

    WindowsXP 64-Bit Edition does not provide support for features
    aimed primarily at users of portable computers. The following
    features are not included:
    Hot docking/undocking
    PC Card
    IrDA
    Terminal Services client for Handheld PC
    Power Management

    System Restore

    The System Restore feature is not supported in WindowsXP 64-Bit
    Edition.

    Networking and Communications

    The following networking and communications features are not
    included in WindowsXP 64-Bit Edition:
    Internet Locator Service (ILS)
    MSN? Internet Access client
    Message Queuing (MSMQ) Level 8 Listener
    Windows Messenger Service

    Database

    The 64-bit versions of these database engines and features are not

    System Administration

    These system administration and management features are not
    supported in WindowsXP 64-Bit Edition:

    Fast User Switching
    Remote Assistance
    File and Settings Transfer Wizard
    Windows Product Activation (WPA)

    I think Microsoft main reason why they make XP 64bit, they want all user to have target practice before Longhorn will arrive. And also thought, Longhorn will be in 64bit OS(WinXP Pro today) and 32bit OS(WinXP Home today)....

    just got actual hands-on on this sa amo workplace..Windows x64 on a new DELL 8400 machine..nag browse2x lang ko sa OS and it's really very responsive compared to a 32 bit machine...unfortunately wala pako ka browse ug mga ms office or other apps coz pangitaon ang mga 64 bit na applications..
