you only need a decent guitar with s/s/s pickup config ; 5 switch system and a nice and clean tube amp(preferabley a Fender tube amp) to get these guys tones (Mayer,Vaughn,Hendrix, etc.)

I don't teach, sorry. I do this just for fun and to relax. I do however surround myself with other guitar players who are like into my kind of music ...even deeper. I came from a rock background...doing stuff like heavy metal, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani stuff. ...then turned to heavy Blues ...like SRV, Gary Moore, BB King, etc..... then cross to jazz. If you can't get the groove and feel fast, the easiest way to learn it is to learn actual songs..... start from easy songs like Larry Carlton's version of "sleepwalk", you can find in youtube jazz lessons....Larry Carlton style , Robben Ford Style....everything is in the net. You have to start slow and love and enjoy when playing it.

some slow smooth jazz songs that I recommend you listen and try to play....be very conscious on technique, feel, and groove. It's slow, but it doesn't make it easy...technique-wise. ..talking about proper bending, vibratos. timing....etc

Jeff Golub's " Gone But Not Forgotten"
Larry Carlton's " Sleepwalk" , " The Philosopher", "Emotions Would Us So", "Hello Tomorrow",
Pat Martino's "Willow Weep for Me"
    Paul Brown's "White Sand"
Paul Jackson Jr.'s " Athens Park"
