In any case, Simply stating that socialized medicine has no drawbacks is rather naive. It has it's drawbacks... but it's better than the current system in the states... (imo). If healthcare is managed by people who are trying to get a profit... you get screwed for sure.

In the US, it is cheaper and more convenient to eat fast food than "health" food. Labi na karon nga daghan kaayong value meals, mga coupons, buy 1 get 1 etc etc ning mga fast food chains. To be healthy in the US, one needs to really, really make an effort. And with the way life is here, sometimes one is just too tired from too much work that the only option is a drive-thru. And before you know it, your jeans don't fit anymore. tsk tsk tsk
