actually, first timer ko for dgte - dipolog - ozamis route. excited ko sa trip and the scenery but ako misis is from oroquieta so she is a bit familiar sa lugar. visit dayon mi sa relative sa ozamis...
from mukas, kolambugan up to northern mindanao, i pretty much know the place kay mis. or. ko nag dako...
    i think its a good route for a break-in...

nindot pud suggestion godwhacker to proceed Camiguin... tempting !!!

hopefully la na samok sa maigo-kauswagan-linamon area kay diha man to samok bag-uhay lang... most of my friends say the area is secure naman daw.

not very sure lang sa scheds sa ferry from dgte-dapitan coz montenegro lines have only 2 trips every day:
    dgte-dapitan
    depart 6:00AM arrive 9:30AM
depart 10:00PM arrive 1:30AM (following day)
is there any other RORO that ferries vehicles Dgte-Dipolog/Dapitan nga mo biya ug mid day?

very much appreciate the tips and info...

Pong is very correct. Kung daghan mo kay leisure trip man kaha mas maayo via dumaguete and the fruits along the way...!!!! I love it. Daghan dyud bitaw marang karon ug lanzones. Gawas pa ang brand new car is not too much of a guzzler kung long trips kung mag break in. Enjoy bro and good luck.

Ang tricky part lang ani ako suggested route is Kolambugan kay mostop mo unya musakayg barge. kinahanglan kabalo mo kung asa ang kulambogan of which d pod lisod ilocate kay along the highway.
hi you dont have to go for cagayan to reach ozamis, naa man boat for ozam and plane too... try cebu pacific and PAL express for the schedule...

The road condition is much better than via Barili/Moalboal and you can reach Bato quicker. When you reach Bato, Samboan you can ask the locals where the ferry is. Don't know how much is the fare but on the other side of Negros Oriental it is still, I believe, the port called Tampe. Just make copies of your OR and CR.

The more the better. Drive to Dumaguete City and ask where the ferry to Dapitan/Dipolog City is. There are quite a lot now because of the Nautical Highway. This is the best I can recommend because this is good for your break in period and driving a car like this is actually the best to do a break-in and there's fun of course.

When you reach Ozamis don't forget to have your new car a wash kay salty ra ba inig labang nimo ug lawud. And last piece of advice, ayaw lang pagdali drive somewhere between 80 to 90 with occasional odo at 100 para di mapugos imong makina and drive safely.
this is exactly the perfect information in going to ozamis via land trip, my family tried this its about 12-14 hour trip.supper kapoy daw so pagbalik nila they have to travel by plane and have the car travel via boat.hehehe.. happy trip and enjoy drive to ozam

finally, we did the trip... and what a trip it was...
i would say i was surprised as it wasn't as tiring as i thought it would be... longest time i had to drive was less than 3 hours... hapit2x man pud mi sa relatives, so had more time to relax in between drive legs...

just to give insights for trippers that may take the route:

Cebu to Bato took around 2 and half hour drive
road to south of cebu all the way to Bato, is really nice... paved nice... kudos to our Cebu gov.

Maayo Shipping service (Bato-Tampi) took around 45 mins barge trip.

    Tampi-Dgte is just 20km drive

    Dgte-Dapitan barge took 4 hours

Dapitan-0roquieta took short of 2 hours drive, Oroquieta-Ozamis around 45 minutes (also well paved road)

Ozamis-Mukas Kolambugan around 30min barge trip

Mukas - Iligan drive took about 1 hour,
Iligan-CDO also took about more than an hour. These legs of the drive, road isn't as nice as it used to be. Paved but needs rehabilitation... paging our govs. and cong.... at these areas...

thanks to all those who gave infos early on... really helped

    Pit Seņor !!!!
