have seen this kid play; first thing which comes to mind is his court awareness is greeat but he needs to learn how to use his left hand. right now he's probably a GOOD college player. can he be a great NBA player? sure, he just isnt one yet. someone said the european game is more physical than NBA; not in the playoffs it isnt. and he hasnt seen an NBA-style defense yet.

keep in mind tho is that this kid is 17 years old and 6'4", he's STILL growing. he might not even be a PG anymore by the time he's 22-23 years old.

by the way, Rubio will get his first glimpse of the NBA in a few hours as Spain takes on USA. Ricky, meet Kobe/Lebron/Dwayne/Chris/Jason...... it will be a good learning experience for him. those guys will make anybody look bad.

this kid is fun to watch... he's got good ballhandling skills and great defense..i saw how he locked liu wei during their match with china... he's got good passing skills too with those precise alley hoop to pau..
the kid has a very good court vision and court smarts...unfortunately he lacks some shooting skills..he needs to hone them and perhaps more upper body strength before he goes to the NBA..

He's go real NBA potential, not just his skills but with the way he's playing the game, he's real entertaining. He's got impressive stats for a 17 year old. But ending up as the number 1 pick is still so uncertain if he'll join the draft next year but being among the top 5 is a sure thing, it will all depend on what the lottery winning team needs.

from what i've read... they didn't say that he "will" be a number 1 pick.. they said that he "could" be number 1 pick.. heck anyone "could" be a number 1 pick..and from my point of view with regards to USA and Spain game, the spaniards didnt go all out..i could see why since its a non bearing game.. ma injured pa nuon ilang players going into the medal rounds..they played a laid back game IMHO.
