yes it starts within us... as parents to our kids or as children to our parents. Lets try to be models inside our homes and let our kids follow our good examples and then it will be magnified to the community and maybe to our country. The family is the smallest institution but will have the greatest impact to all the other institution of any nation.

Definitely agree with you AL1974, the family as a small instituution should set an example.but the problem is majority population of Filipinos are either poor or uneducated. The culture and the mindset of these families has been moved from generation and more generation to come.

Yes we really have a problem on poverty. The irony in our country is that mas kawatan and mga datu ug politician nga unta sakto man sila sa kaon. Ang pobre mauy naninguha makakaon.

The ultimate solution is hyperwage gyud. Dapat increase and salary sa pobre to the point na maka-afford sila ug decent living. That will also help distribute corruption, etc.

let's just cross our fingers that with the tirade by our current President against EU and US that it will not have an impact considering that in the US, either who wins in this coming November 2016 election ... Hillary or Trump will somehow bring back or pullout jobs that are already in here

good if the next President after DU30's six year term is still pro-China or pro-Russia because if not then we will go around in circle in which it might not too easy to recover or bridge again the good things that happen to Ph strongest ally

PH strongest allies in words maybe? How come we lost Scarborough Shoal, what did the US do just watching?

What if Chinese business all around the philippine country pullout their business? Do we think we will not end back to a circle.

it's not US doing when Scarborough Shoal was lost but Ph neglect or too trustworthy of China's ulterior motive when we allow them to proceed then the construction of the so called fishermen shelter in the shoal ... di natu ipasa atung katanga sa lain ug mangbasol pa

maybe the US is partly to blame but we can't blame the US either kay ang2x man sab kun mutabang dayon US considering nga gipalagpot gud ilang military bases

See you sound so pro US and based on your statements your really need to dig more in our history.
The US has committed to be an allies to PH even though the military based was remove, they should understand that because that is our right as a country, whatever the reason they should accept that because we are still an Allies. US is simply bitter since they allow these, they have the technology and capacity to prevent this. How can you treat somebody an allies saying we are with PH , we are behind PH and then we lost Scarborough Shoal. Purely US is after to their self interest to dominated us. I dont belive upto these date US Help has no strings attached, only a fool will believe that. If you read back history yes US has poured PH investment and bring us opportunities. But it doesn't remove the fact that US Colonial to PH has more benefits to them than PH. The US has always been sick and busy to dominate the world, always tagging china as the bad guys.

If you check history China never invade us even before Magellan came to PH we already had trade with other countries with strong trade to China. The Chow Dynasty of China has even mention our country in their record books of 722 B.C. making the PH a least 2731 years old. OUr culture of success, wealth, prosperity, honesty and respect was already established before Magellan came. Chinese would even leave their product without contract only word of honor, they then came back 1 year after to get the payment. We built up and edified others and we did not ruin anybody's reputation. These things are very scared to us. It was these colonial countries Spanish, US, Japan who introduce us with these negative practices such as crab mentality.

We are branded as GOOD, we were thought of as being trustworthy even before these colonial countries.

You really can't blame Duterte's statics to dependence issues, the US have past records in PH to show they are also cowards.

yes! i may sound pro-US that even if the US invade us before ug ang China wa but if we live with it and not move forward then Ph ra gihapon alaut

IMHO it should be a learning experienced pero paabante gihapon ta ... ang Japan bitaw nga gibombahan atomic bomb kay bisan sa ka-advance militarily sa ilang country, Japan still needs US to support them

what is worse nga sakto ka that in history China never invade us even before but unsang pagka-unsaa nga signatory sila sa ITLOS, ila na man hinuon gisikop atong sovereign territory sa West Philippine Sea ... gibuhat pa gyud sa China when US bases was already gone so naa gyud diay dautan tinguha ang China

so wa ka masulti sa pagsikop tibuok West Philippine Sea? perhaps taman ra pud ka ingon nga wa man ta ikasukol so hilom na lang ta nga in the first place China should abide ITLOS as it's signatory to it

ang sakto unta kun naa man gani wa ganahi si Digong sa US then revise, amend or improve the ties kay existing na man

maayo man pagbuhat sa mga treaties with US wa gastuhi sa tax payers ug mga follow up meetings ... ug maayo na lang pud tingali US kay past records ra man, sa China karon kay they're so bully with our fishermen kay haruson lang dumbol tawon mga panagatan
