This is an issue of attitude when using an open service--you simply have to be aware that what you are using may or may not be reliable. Pananglitan, the weather. Even though it cannot be accurately predicted, people still use it, and PAGASA still gives out daily reports. If the weather was that serious and someone's party got rained on because they thought the sun will shine and yet it rained, do you see them suing or demanda ba nila ang PAGASA?

Another thing...that's the whole point of Wikipedia! If you feel that the entry is in error, you can then write an email to the maker of the entry, and some Wikipedia entries can in fact be directly edited and you can add an erratum/errata. Ergo, the responsibility of making sure that the entries are correct lies in the hands of you, the user.

Wikipedia is like one big anthropological experiment on ANARCHY...NO RULES..anyone can vandalize it-in fact it is being vandalized frequently but there are also people who are in take the time to correct these entries...


with WIKIPEDIA we see a semblance of order and harmony-something we wouldn't expect in an environment where no rules/laws are set....

If you're just browsing and learning information for your pleasure, then it is 'reliable'.

If you're going to perform serious research (for a school paper, publication, etc.), then that'd be a big NO.

Anyone who does any serious research knows to cite their references, and to rely on more than one source of information.
