Okay, sorry for reviving this thread. But i just had to do it..
I watched the first 3 episodes of Tengen Toppa some time ago, and decided i should continue it when it's done. And lol, karun pa ko ni watch ug tarong sa series. The first 7 eps was good. Lolz funny and weird. And it was like a comedy mecha anime. "Nothing serious would happen," i thought.
But episode 8 proved me wrong..
Why oh why, Kamina??!!!! TT___TT
I thought it wasn't true. For the past eps, it was all happy and lolz. i shall never trust this series again. I'll be bracing myself for bigger shocks. 19 more eps to go for me.. ;___;
Now that i have cried enough, i should get some sleep and mourn again for him tomorrow..

I shall never trust happy, lolz, funny, not-so-serious anime series again.

^^ Shocking noh?? And I thought the series was very predictable..

Anyway, for those lucky enough, the first 2-DVD set is out which contains the first 9 episodes, officially subtitled.. (no dub yet).. Unfortunately, the cover art is quite boring

And here's what you can expect from the series based on this review (still from ANN):

It slams its pedal to the metal and charges boldly forward, barely lets up before the end of episode 8, often leaving its viewers breathless in its wake and never giving them an opportunity to ponder how completely ridiculous its premise and combats are. Havent seen it but then again its by Gainax (NGE and FC) so im not surprised. Mech design put me off a bit though

my thoughts at first... how the mecha was drawn out was a little bit awkward... but this is what makes it standout from all those mecha animes... it is very cool in an uncool way.

i just feel like i have to give praise to this anime...i guess this is what youd feel after watching it!!!

this is one of the chosen few...one of the bestevers!!! ... though underated, this anime would kick ass and beat any anime anytime!!! aside from its epic storyline and coolest shades in anime history, the mecha battles of universal proportion was just jaw dropping... wahhhhhh.... have u everseen a robot the size of a moon fight with each other... i mean what the...!!! that is just pure awesomeness!

try this one out guys...though the episodes is not as long as those mainstream animes...after you've watch this, it'd feel like youve been watching this anime for the longest time....
