i heard that it depends on ur DVDWirter if u look at it theres a

DVD+R has big RW logo

while

DRD-R has no RW logo.

yes, you got it wrong. the -/+R are write-once only discs. -/+RW are rewritable discs. to correct, if u see RW on ur writer it means it support writing to a rewriteable disc, RW's.

of course, u can use ANY type of blank dvd's out there if ur writer supports it and ur home dvd player plays it, too. that's all that matter. BUT if u intend to play it somewhere else or share ur movies to other people -R is recommended coz its the older/the-first-one-that-came-out type hence the most compatible disc to play.

yes, +R discs can be bit set to act as -R but that depends now on ur writer/burn software if it features it.

what matters in burning is the answer to the question - what is it that u'r going to make, data or movie disc? is that for ur own use or for sharing?

actually, as many have posted,"there's no difference..". burn baby burn! but the OP asked so i was just trying to help.

really there is not much difference. + or - as long as you burn it and it works. either are pretty cheap in cdrking
