No offense, but you cannot comapre a Japanese car with a European car with a very distinct price gap.
What's so dull with OEM's? Dell, HP, not to mention Alienware, Falcon Nortwest, All American Computers?
I don't have a problem with Mac or Apple or Windows but I have a problem with "dull PCs".
What is true to some is not true to all.

@fd: the distinct price gap ratio of computers is just about the same with cars .the problem with PC and Mac comparisons generally tend to lean on comparing a cheaper (by PC standards) PC unit and comparing it with a much more expensive Mac (by Mac standards).

You also misunderstood: OEM products are made so in such a way to avoide additional costs. They come out with only the barest of essential s and are quite plain and homely, to be quite frank. Like i have mentioned above, modding rose from a certain lack of visual appeal these products generally have. (except of course when one who views it is into retro). Dell, HP, Alienware, etc..all benefit from these OEM products by pre-modding their units themselves into something that looks better.

If you have read my post thoroughly, you would've realized that I actually wanted people to compare Macs with what Dell, HP, and Alienware (most especially these guys..i love their cases).

zerone_null: musta ric this is a funny thread just thot id share my 2 cents worth Awsome marketing move by apple there ive gotta say I think Macs and PC's are both good. i think its just a matter of personal preference and what you actually need it for. its like if you just need if for email you might as well get that old pentium 3 stashed in the corner box somewhere.

as far as price is concerned the hi-end alienwares laptops are even more expensive than those new prelaunch macbooks due out next month pero as said above you can buy cheap china or non branded do it yourself computers at cheaper than mac prices. That makes people that preffer pc's tho much luckier as they are also available at cheaper prices

As far as the looks of a Mac is concerned yes it is nice but not everyone is into that look the only reason it stands out now is coz there isnt really much people using it here now but if you study for example in a music school that requires every single student to hava a power book then the mac becomes a common piece of
hardware and the alienware carying guy in the corners got somethiing cool

As for the modding bit well im a modder and i mod to be different not just my pc but anything i own that can be modded. You mod to get a better product than what you paid for too you buy the best that you can afford and modd the crap out of it to be different.

id beg to disagree with people not modding european cars as even if you drive around the city the nice hi-end euro cars around are actually modded. but of cours not all are modded due to the fact that its way more expensive than modding your computer

Personally id like to have the best PC and the best mac outhere and MOD them into a single unit hehehehe ( saw it done in one of those modding website a few years back)

well hope you guys dont mind nga naki-apilapil ko i know im not a regular poster on this side of the forums

Oh i do not favour one over the other as i have recomended a Lot of people to both MAC & PC (both stan of istore and ryan of arctech can vouch for that) I just match my recomendations to what people need them for

jcy0001: dude! what's up man?! you're actually planning to mod a PC and a Mac under one hood? that's gonna be one kick-ass unit..'course i won't expect them to operate together at the same time unless one just acts as server or something.. but that's cool man! hope you go for it!
