its attached to other verbs also to imply "Can you.... " ( correct me if am wrong )
if you say matte kuremasen ka? " can you wait? "
or kaite kuremasen ka ? " can you write?"

suru is the plain form of shimasu.

Shiyou as used by boredtosanity was a derivative form of SURU (to do) ...so abuot-san you understood it right.

it's uh.. the volitional form (mao ba to? kadaghan man gud klase nga form. plain form, polite form, uniform.. hehe joke) of suru.
Anyway, maybe it would be better if start sa with a few vocab words, then a little of grammar later on. watchuthink? It might be easier that way lang... mao man pod sa books hehe.
