however you can still classify "grunge" without seeing/knowing the artist.

True, true... It was more in the way they look...

@CuJo: Yes, very very big difference from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, SoundGarden, Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, The Melvins, etc... I didn't consider The Pumpkins as Grunge. You think they are?

My personal and everybody's favorite is Nirvana next only to Sound Garden. I can't seem to get Pearl Jam. I forgot to include Alice in Chains as well.

I never liked Nirvana - para nako, Soundgarden was the best band that came out of that grunge scene. Vedder and Pearl Jam made 2 great albums pero after TEN and VERSUS, it's just crap. Although dili grunge, Dinosaur Jr., The Lemonheads, Teenage Fanclub, Pavement, etc... were the ones that I was into during that time.

buhi gihapon ang grunge oi... ang namatay ra kay ang mainstream status sa genre but not the music as a whole....pero sadly lambasted na kaayo ang grunge tungod sa mga Post-grunge nga nanggawas. dont mean to desrespect pero most sa Post-grunge nga nanggawas nisakay raman sa wave sa kasikat sa mga original gud. they didnt even expand or did their own. they just copied the sound, rip-of some of the riffs, do a Vedder move and viola! instant grunge band naka..

i was so into Grunge i bought an Original Greenriver's RehabDoll/Dry as a Bone cassete tape for 400PHP(motoo kag sa di..i paid 3x the orginal price of the tape.)... pero ok lang kay sulit man sad...hinoun at that time wa pa man cd gud...hehe.... but still that tape is a collectors item na gyud.that is if your into Grunge(and i mean GRUNGE!)

Tad is also a good Band....pero unsaon man mas nisikat ang ni copy sa ila sound. d nalang nako e sulti kay basin ganahan mo ato nya inyo rako awayon...heheh..

pero pinaka Astig nga Grunge para nako ang Mudhoney.tudo-iwas gyud sila sa mainstream regardless of the fame they could get... and naa gihapon sila hangtud karon....

    my fav grunge bands...

    Greenriver
    Mudhoney
    Screaming Trees
    soundgarden
    pearl jam
    Melvins
    Tad
    alice in chains
    silverchair
    Blind Melon

    too many to mention

little Trivia: it was Mark Arm of Mudhoney who penned the term Grunge. naa pa siya sa Greenriver ato nga time...
