San Antonio reclaimed the top spot in the West...

here's another point to ponder, the game against Miami the Mavs led 23 points in the 3rd quarter but after the second defensive miscue commited by his players, Avery Johnson called timeout and gave his team a good "tongue lashing" and to think of it, they're up "23". this is another aspect that's keeping this Mavs team apart from the "old Mavs", coaching. Avery hasn't coached a tenth of Don Nelson's but he has all the ingredients in becoming one, focus, tenacity and "no let-up mentality". other coaches during the playoffs might find ways to take advantage of this "rookie coach", but Del Harris would always be by his side.

Well, Don Nelson's strategy is, the way i see it, score 'til the very last minute and he has that offensive system. They lacked a defensive presence and that was one of the reasons why they were never considered as a title contender. Avery made all the difference for the Mavs of course and has redirected them to an up-tempo team with enough system that could lead them to the promised land. But, for me though, it's stil, not their year.

it's really hard to earn respect. that's why the Mavs should prove it come playoff time. this year might not be the year they'll get over the hump, but it'll be close.

Kuyaw na kaayo Mavs. They have been doing it on defense. They are more dangerous if they can limit their opponents below 100. But this may also affect their offense since they have to slow down their game. Sayang na snap ilang 12 game winning streak.

@Sardinas, it was actually 13 games. they are still capable of scoring above 100 but they need to polish their D so they can compete with the Spurs and Pistons of the world.

Aw 13 diay. But still it's an improvement from last year the way they are holding their opponents below 100 points. I would want to see them against the suns in the playoffs. They are fun to watch.
