Enjoyed Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Gives his own take to the character. Emma Stone as always is a delight to watch. Webb even got her to dress just like Gwen Stacy in the comics. It's an origins story, so I understand why the place is slower, the better to flesh out how Peter Parker eventually becomes Spider Man.

The obvious hint for the series's next villain is disappointing though. Wanted a new villain.

    I agree!

The movie was not bad but I was expecting something different than the last time. The only thing changed was the story, that would not be appreciated by comic lover round the world. Spider man has somehow become more of a Romeo than a super hero. The super hero movies are now being produced to entertain a wide range of people, which is why I feel they have lost their intensity. The way these movies are coming out day is not far when middle aged mothers would be watching these with their little daughters. The creators these days have somehow become very sensitive and are now coming up with crying heroes. I hope the new batman movie would be better than The Amazing Spider Man.

Please someone ask these creators to grow some balls and come up with movies like Predator, Terminator, Rambo, Matrix etc. Rather than remaking the same set of movies again and again ask them to come up with some original ideas, and not such amazing ideas.

trend nowadays is reboot, reboot, reboot and they should blame Nolan for this. From Batman to Bond to Star Trek ; next stop is Superman. or they can blame it on Batman and Robin; the audience got what they wanted because they thought the preceding Batman Returns was too "not for kids."

I had huge expectations from this movie. I had thought andrew would be,as they say, amazing. unfortunately, he was, well, himself!

The story is pretty different from the previous spiderman movies. However, the first half is similar to the first half an hour of spiderman 1! yes, it is that boring!

Andrew Garfield has done a pretty good job, but his dialogue delivery is kinda sad. I was really impressed by Emma Stone. she looks pretty and has a don't-mess-with-me attitude, which is crucial for her character.

I found myself looking at my watch for almost most of the first half. The story, however, picks up in the second half with the advent of the lizard. The 3-D was mediocre, almost useless.

So, basically, do not waste time and money at the theatre to watch this movie. you'd rather rent this movie out or download (oops, did i just say that?)!
its just basically the producers are following the story in the comics which the previous spiderman movies didnt....
and critics liked andrew garfield. He's acting is raw and that's what spiderman is. and let me quote something that the director said " Andrew is one of the most giving actors i've ever worked with. He's the best spiderman, i can see it in him, Spiderman is witty, a kid, wants to have fun, he goes to first love and piss around and that's what Andrew is, he brings so much rawness to the character " Marc Webb

magkatawa lang ko sa uban nga post diri na kalahi ra ba ani ug story sa spiderman ni tobey oi,or bati kay balik diay sa sinugdanan. Why do you watch a movie when you dont even know any information about the movie. That's why sometimes sayang jud ang kwarta na atong gasto-on kay magpadala ra man gud ta sa hype para lang makasabay sa talk of the town.
So sa mga wala pa kahibalo the amazing spiderman is a REBOOT so balik jud siya sa sinugdanan
its pretty different from TOBEY's Spiderman because the director choose to be faithful to the comics..
and stop comparing tobey and andrew, andrew said in an interview, tobey emailed him and congratulated him about the movie.
    im just saying....

same pud sa comics na after he was bitten, he invented the device that shoots the web...

even the way he shoots the web like a gun, same kau....
