that was a simple YES or NO question.

    I do.....

Hey, it wasn't specifically directed towards yours in fact I think I missed your question. It was directed towards those who are against debating but are also against the Scriptures.

If you live amidst naggers and ultra-pessimistic people (NOT speaking of your comfort zone of course), then it's good exercise in practicing patience... and if you do get insulted? Turn the other cheek.

This can NOT be done if the person cannot love though...... and even if a person DOES practice what it is he's preaching then it doesn't mean there is an absence of issues he still has to deal with regarding the refinement of his character and morales..

Remember to err is human, that is why even some philosophers like Immanuel Kant had to formulate a categorical imperative so we can AT LEAST strive to live out by principles that are universally acceptable at the service of good will. Nietze's lamentation "God is dead" was because good will can be associated with theistic philosophy and ideals.

religion is flawed because man itself is flawed..thus a debate on religion is always destined to be flawed.

    Fingolfin,

I have an above post, above Tolstoi's anyway I have an opinion on preaching:

One may be practicing what he is preaching IF he also uses his role as maestro to psyche himself to live by the principles he's teaching others to live by - but take note, whatever it is he's NOT including or talking about may be an issue in his life...

Do As I say is rather hypocritical.

Do As I Say but Not As I Do might be honest in some cases.

But Do as HE says and you might just do good is more like it....

Christ died for our sins. Dare we make his martyrdom meaningless by not committing them?

    sit back... relax....

I'm going to be really honest with all of you... after reading through the posts... THIS TOPIC JUST MAKES ME SICK. Really.
There is nothing on here but debates and more debates. The sarcasm, stereotyping, and the "my views are better than yours" are rampant, obvious, and utterly pathetic.

Try reading through the topic and you'll get what I mean.

Religion- we really lost the POINT, have we?

Nope. But we make the act of checking our regulations and human contracts meaningless by turning our back on sins and crucifying them with Him on the cross...... but in our quest for perfection, imperfection is inevitable, but if we ask God to account our mistakes to Jesus's death on our behalf, we can still persist in pursuing a life of holiness.

Dare we nullify his sacrifice on the cross by choosing to suffer voluntarily for the souls of those who have recently passed away? - Heb. 10: 18

There is no longer an offering for sin1........ What is lacking in Christ's sufferings is OUR sufferings for the sake of the Gospel. 2
