    Waterboy,

Bosconian sab ka bro? Was one of the handfuls who opted woodworking way back in dekada 80, kay lagi mas daghan miprefer ug either electromechanics, machine shop or ID. Anyway, I did not regret the choice kay nagamit jud ang learning. Until now, I am still hungry to learn more and kudos to you for having this nice and very informative thread.

I have been doing woodworking projects at least once a year ug nakacollect na pud ko ug fair number of tools. I am currently doing an outdoor stand made of bamboo (go-od) para sa mga organic vegetables namo. Ako pa gikis-kisan using spoke shave kay I plan to put put lacquer finish para mas molungtad. Kaso I read in one of your posts here that problema diay ang pagtreat ani? I heard some stories gud na good bamboo could last years even used outdoors. I have seen one resort here in Po-oc Talisay kanang owned by a Korean and Filipina couple (Yulysees man lagmit ang name sa resort). Ila outdoor benches, chairs and tables ingon ako migo more than 3 years na pero ok pa gihapon ug wala pa gani finish. Bilib sab ko pagkahimo kay zero-zero jud and joints. I was planning to put 3 coats of Valspar lacquer, ok ra kaha ni? What do you recommend sa legs / base ako kaha sementohon? Will post pics soon. I would welcome other suggestions too.

first of all thank you and it's a pleasure na nag abot ta ngari.. hehe.. naa ko na basahan about bamboo..

    •Beckers Syntema Manila - Gil Quijano - 4226288
    •Sparko - Ernest T. Tandaan III - 4217885

naa na sila mahatag tips in finishing indigenous materials such as bamboo, rattan, abacca, etc..

naa lang ko idea try using resins.. lalo dapit sa mga joints.. sprayhan lang gyud.. but before that gyud.. agi gyud ka sa process 1 and that is treatment..
after overnight gikan treatment.. ara dayon nimo tirahan ang bamboo ug resin..

naa namna d i available nga mga tips online..

Perhaps the best way of treating bamboo is to force a solution of 3-10% of half borax and half boric acid through bamboo using an air compressor to create 20-30 lb of pressure. The bamboo is left on a slight incline with the base closest to the tank (though it is also possible to do it in the other direction) and the chemicals gradually move through the vascular system.

To protect bamboo from fire use plaster. For structural bamboo it is important not to penetrate the septum as it is the crucial part of the bamboo for strength. Small diameter holes can be put in the sides of bamboo, however. To avoid problems it is important that the bamboo is dry before used in construction.

just a hint.. naa ka ma palit sa ace hardware.. pangita ug Polyurethane topcoat.. cover your entire top with 2 coats or more sa imong top and sides lang sa table.... this will protect your marine ply sa water or moist kay labaw na ug basin mag painting painting ka..
