im sorry but i wont encourage this...

4 or 5 years ago, Odesk was the best site for freelancing. most of the providers at that time where european and americans and the hourly rates are impressive. the HOURLY RATES were so high. imagine an hourly rate of $20!!! as for my line of work which is graphic designing, i got a a lot of jobs in odesk with a $20 hourly rate. i was very happy with what i earned. I WAS EARNING DOLLARS IN HOURLY RATES WITHOUT WORKING ABROAD! buyers before wouldnt mind the hourly rates since they know the rates of graphic designing in their countries. they know that graphic designing is a skill that needs high pay.

then here come the indians, the bangladeshis, the pakistanis and some filipinos trying their luck with odesk. these people apply for certain jobs at $1 per hour!!!!!!!! imagine, a dollar per hour of graphic work!!!!!!!! i just couldnt believe it! THEY KILLED THE INDUSTRY... the buyers/clients tend to hire these people instead bec of a very low rate. what used to be a place for earning big became a place fighting for feedback... its really horrible. we dont need to lower our rates just for feedback. we are working for a person or a company who is earning triple or quadruple of what we earn! lowering rates just to get feedback just doesnt make sense. it just killed earning in odesk.

believe me, i lost a couple of buyers/clients because of providers giving very, very low rates. im not sourgraping here but its just that the industry died because of lowered rates. i do still have loyal clients because of the quality work i give in which they can really say, WE REALLY PAYED TO WHAT WEVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. most of my jobs with them are not with odesk na. they pay me straight to my paypal account. and i dont need to worry about hourly rates or odesk team rooms and whatever.

MURA NA NUON TAG GA TRABAHO GHAPON SA PILIPINAS ANANG $1 PER HOUR! much worse kay mas ubos pa sa rate sa ako office work! grabe!

since then ive shunned odesk indefinitely. kapoy2 ka lang apply unya naa pay mas grabe ka ubos ug rate nga willing mu sacrifice PARA LANG MAKA FEEDBACK.

its good also that there are other sites that works like odesk. AND ITS EVEN MUCH BETTER SINCE THEY HAVE A FIXED MINIMUM PRICE FOR A FIXED PRICED JOB at $50! now thats what i call saving the industry. a good $50 minimum compared to a dollar in odesk.

no pms please. google is your best friend out there.

Sakto gyud ka. Pero in terms of practicality lang, lisud na kaayo mangita ug buyer nga $20 diritso labi na first job. To others, it's not just about the feedbacks. We all know it matters but the thing is, they don't really care as long as they get the job. I mean, like, "Ay, gamyun lang sa nako ug hourly rate kay beginner pa bitaw ko." Ila ning gibuhat para sila ang mapili, kay lagee, what matters to them is 'just' to get a job. But dili man pud na mo stop diha, kung magkadugay, pde ra man sad nimo padak-an imong hourly rates.

Kinsa man sad mo-dawat ug provider nga dako'g pangayoon ug hourly rate then bati kaayo ug profile/resume? Diba wala man? That's why mo-start jud na sa gamay. And sooner or later, diha na na maka-bawi. I'm not saying this because I'm pro-lower rates nor an anti. It's just that, mo-start man gyud ta sa gamay. Di man ta makatilaw diritso sa lami kung di ta magsugod sa bati. That's just my two cents though.
