USJ-R successfully maintained its winning streak in the HRRAC Cebu Goes Culinary Quest for the Best by lording over competitors in this year’s competition held on July 22-24 at the Waterfront Cebu Hotel and Casino. In its second year now, the competition was also championed by USJ-R during its first year.
Three teams of USJ-R made it to the finals in the Quiz Bee. The second team composed of Dianne Almeida, Djhoanna Egos, and Niño Jeetom Pitogo, all Hospitality Management students, bagged the bronze medal.
Samantha Denise Colinares and Joselito Vega won the gold medal in the Dress the Cake competition. Paul Ryan Desquitado cinched the bronze medal in the Buco Chef Challenge.
The USJ-R contender for the Cocktail Mixing received a diploma. The team consisted of Charles Alipio, Philip Eleazar Tamparong, and Jeric Dave Completo.
Another medal was secured by USJ-R in the Dream Team Challenge. Al Christian Lawrence Yu, Kimberly Ann Marie Monterde, and Adriane Aliviado were responsible for the bronze.
Kevin Win Delos Reyes, Aizel Rose Doble, and James Gavilan made Josenians proud when they received the gold medal with distinction by topping the Table Setting contest.
Five teams from USJ-R were finalists in the Menu Writing Contest. Team 1 composed of Anthony Verdida, Henry Lito Abellar, and Rualdo Radomes won the bronze. Marlowe Cabansay of Team 4 also shared their victory because he also bagged a bronze medal.
The third team composed of Junbel Rey Sardon, Clifford Gallego, and Kelsey Jensyn Ong landed with the silver medal in the same competition. USJR was also a finalist in the Photolicious contest.
These winnings secured USJ-R’s second term as the over-all champion in HRRAC Cebu Goes Culinary Quest for the Best.
