di na man na mistil isulti nga weakness iya free throw, natural born bolay og og free throw man na si shaq. . and avery johnson Ive got a big respect sa guy, dili na siya mogamit og hack a shaq. unless wala na siyay lain nga optionOriginally Posted by anakin

As far as scoring outputs cancelling each other out bla bla bla .... All you're putting into consideration are the point outputs.... you didn't put SHAQ's effect on Mav's defense into consideration... and how WADE can break and penetrate on the defense.. Â* MANU and PARKER is no Dwayne Wade.. even both of them combined. Â*These are the factors in which MIAMI can rely on... you really can't make your deduction basing on Mav's performance against the Spurs. Â*

Pero like you said... lingin kaayo ang bola ani nga matchup... para nako, UNDERDOG gihapon ang HEAT because MAVS has too much firepower bisag ilang bench... and as what I've said before, sa DEFENSE lang gihapon daogon.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
hehe.. this is turning into a deeper understanding of the finals huh?
naa sunstar today ai... seems, naa gamay edge ang mavs:
center: shaq vs. diop/dampier --- miami
power forward --- dallas obviously
small forward -- howard vs walker -- dallas
off guard - griffin vs. wade -- miami
point - jason vs. jason -- dallas
reserves - payton/mourning/posey vs. stack/harris/van horn -- dallas
coaches -- experience vs coach of the year on his 1st year -- even
i think the heat have the same style of play sa spurs (half court, post play) so the obvious answer would be run and gun... increase the tempo of the game
Edge gyud ang MAVS sa MIAMI.... I agree to that.
Avery did a good job with the MAVS though, you can't write that off.

bitaw ang line up sa heat murag all star dili ma pugngan wen it comes to offense.pero defense dallas ko

MAVS got DIRK and his supporting cast, it's not DIRK and HOWARD ... it's just DIRK, HOWARD isn't as consistent as the other stars ..... DIRK is Like Michael Jackson and Howard could be TITO... or even Jermaine. man that's just low.. a guy scoring 20 ppg the whole playoffs and causing match-up problems with the Spurs and the Suns would be called "inconsistent", and then compared to TITO of the Jackson 5.. tsk tsk.. but anyway that's your opinion, I respect that. but having seen Josh Howard play the past 3 yrs and seen him flourish against adversities, maybe the finals will serve as his launching pad to stardom. maybe a ticket to the all-stars but knowing his personality thru the locker room interviews, he'll be doing just fine. and in case you haven't known, he got an invitation to play for this coming Olympics but declined it due to personal reasons. I don't think you're "inconsistent" when you're invited to represent your country to play for the Olympics.. but then, if he has to prove that he's a legitimate star then he has to show-up in the Finals and prove the doubters just like what his team has done this year...

You've totally written off the possibility of the Heat winning not `til lately. nope.. there was no mention nor statement that "the Heat have no answer for the Mav's onslaught", please re-read my posts in this thread please. let me correct you, "the Heat doesn't have an answer for Dirk". Dirk is not the Mavs team, he's just part of it. I said Haslem, Posey and Walker would have a hard time guarding Dirk and you threw out Mourning's name which if I'm not mistaken, wasn't even mentioned by Riley as an option to guard Dirk. and if I ever said "they're (Heat) destined to lose no matter what", I would have picked the Mavs to "sweep" the Heat but since I know that the Shaq-Wade combo is formidable, I predicted the Mavs to win in 7.

Shaq will cause foul problems on the Mav's defense but they've shown that they can throw 3-4 guys at him. with Shaq on the low-post, it could go either way as far as fouls go 'coz we've seen him have offensive fouls often. the Mav's has seen much better low-post game in Tim Duncan and although they had foul trouble in almost all the 7 games in their series, they've handled it well. I think they can handle Shaq and maybe get him in foul trouble also. Wade can get his 30 ppg average but the Mavs can throw different looks at him: longer defenders (Howard/Daniels), burly and aggressive in Griffin, quicker guy in Harris and the Mavs have seen and limited Wade to 23 and 16 in their regular season meetings. I admit, Wade would be a handful on the offensive end but he'll be busy guarding Howard on defense also.

Howard isn't a proven star YET.. maybe in his own team but not in the whole league. He will be a factor. no doubt about that... but he's still a member of the supporting cast no matter how much you argue about it. DIRK is still the man.
---
Mav's offense revolves around DIRK like I said (and it's true), The MAVS offensive onslought is all about DIRK (at least 60% of it) ... If they don't have an answer for Dirk, then that's about it. They're done.
I mentioned Mourning cause with him as power forward helping out Shaq or Posey, it's a very tight defense for mid-range shots and drives. Dirk will have contested jumpshots (he'll probably make over half of these shots but hey, you can only do your best).
---
That's what I've said... the key to this series is the defense. Both teams are okay on defense.. not the best, not the worst either. I give the HEAT the edge as far as defense goes. Problem is, they need to double team Dirk and have to sacrifice an open man. I have no idea what Riley is planning to handle this.... he's probably dreaming about it right now as we speak..
Same concern goes to the Mavs when it comes to guarding Wade and Shaq. I have no idea how AJ is gonna work on the defense. SHAQ will certainly give him headaches (same amount of headaches Dirk is gonna give Riley). As for Wade... the Mavs have the arsenal to give Wade different looks... they have that luxury.
I can't wait to see the first half of Game 1 on how both teams will try to adapt to each other's offensive style. We really can'st say much `til game 1 is done.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
I'll gladly accept Howard's "no star" status but watch Riley constantly mentioning his name the whole series as a match-up issue with them 'coz Wade will tire out guarding him and in turn won't be as effective in the offensive end.
---
I don't think the Heat will use both Shaq and Mourning at the same time in any game this series 'cos Dallas will capitalize on that by controlling the game's tempo in their favor. both would only be effective on half-court defense but not on a transition laden match-up, Pop knew this thus his reason for not playing Mohammed and Nestorovic against Dallas. and knowing Riley's ego, he won't give a freshman coach leverage.
---
Mavs can play Shaq one-on-one and maybe get in foul trouble the whole series but it would mean less touches for the Heat's supporting cast thus resulting to fewer contributions by them. that's just what the Mavs wanted, Shaq getting his 25 but in turn the supporting cast won't get theirs 'coz there'll be no double team, as a result, no open man - no open shot -
