koto: sakto sad na imong choice sa sony alpha kay 24 mos to pay + 3 years warranty is quite hard to beat. ayaw kabalaka anang iso1600 ... shoot raw and remove noise on post processing if you don't like.

ang nice ang katong bag sa sony .. nindut ang design ug build

the problem isnt just the very high noise @ 1600...its also the wierd characteristic ninya na mu lahi ang color, saturation and exposure not to mention halos wala gyud detail mabilin when shooting 1600 sa iso...usable up to 800 ra gyud ang alpha...
check out the exhibit sa ayala...klaro man sa ilang gi blowup na pics na di gyud kaayo siya ana ka nindot quality captures...
but its not that bad either...

the DR advance is kinda inconsistent so monitor lang what you take...double check it after taking.
the thing about the steadyshot is that you cant see it working thru the viewfinder...harder to anticipte...kinda gotten used to thru the lens gyud na antishake as you can see it working even before you press the shutter all the way. but hey its the capture that matters right...as long as it works (3.5 slower shutter) then its all good all in all its hard to beat the alpha in features+price.

jaggy naka kuha ka sa jacket ila panghatag?

Mao too plan namo ( kami 2 ka buyer ) amo gi report sa DTi cuz mao gyud too ilang gi saad namo before we buy, simple mistake but it is still a crime, tskk.. tskk..

any way just bought my CF card and start to practice some shots right now.. mga next week lang ko mo post hehe ok ra?.. nag pa anad paman gud ko cuz lahi ra siya gamay features sa 350D w/c i used before.

(edit lang ni nako na post para maka save og space sa istorya )

here is some Sony Alpha Manual test shots
    Manual Setting
    Jpeg L 10mpx
    D-Range Optimizer: On Standard
Super Steady shot: on ( this function helps alot by adding +3in the Shutter if u know what i mean )

    The Baha'i Temple in Wilmette

    Camera: Nikon D80
    Shutter: 1/250
    Aperture: f6.3
    ISO: 100
    WB: Auto -3

    In-camera settings:
    +Saturation
    +Sharpening
    +Contrast
    +Warm Booster

    Others:
    Nikon Circular Polarizer

    Still a keeper
Colored version from my personal set "Into the Rummage Sale"

    Camera: Nikon D80
    Shutter: 1/20
    Aperture: f5.6
    ISO: 400
    WB: Auto

    In-camera settings:
    + Sharpening
    Normal Contrast
    + Saturation

IMO, the good thing about the Nikon D80 is the built-in Image Enchancement Option. Its like a Photoshop CS2 on the go. Hehehe.. Im shooting .raw to keep stock profile for future adjustments but most of the time I preferred the in-camera adjustments. Whether shooting .raw or .jpeg.. for me its a great function which I think only the Nikon D80 has it. Hehehe..

On the downside, sometimes this body tends to produce over-saturated images which for me erases the naturality effect. Though you can easily adjust the Saturation option but for me why the heck? A friend got a Canon 450D and I was amazed by the naturality.. Well, hehehe.. each with its own advantages and disadvantages..

    @koto
My bad. Should be Canon 400D.. sorry..
As to the 1st pic.. Thanks.. used a CP for that one to make the Blue Sky more blue.. hehehe.. and to add a warming effect.

Basically all the dSLR you've mention can perform. Really depends on your style.. Not much of a difference..
Well, as to Nikon vs. Canon.. both are good brands.. its just that Canon made some silly names on their dSLR "Rebel XTi".. hehehe.. got that one from a Nikonian Forum and supposed to be a joke.. hehehe..
