which part of hi-way seno? i even saw one time that big white TEAM vehicle comfortably positioned itself on the pedestrian lane (mercury drug side) during a stop light waiting to turn left. i know i only saw it once but that says a lot.

I have seen numerous TEAM enforcers work hard but there is no respect from the drivers even those in fancy cars. Sadly, there are also those enforcers who are as ineffective as those stationary traffic signs.

the Team were operating in this area because the big trailer trucks were blocking the entire street during rush hours and illegally parking making a 3 lane road effectively a single lane road if not blocked altogether ... because of the trucking companies' lack of proper system in accessing and exiting their yard ... making the motorist suffer for their inept system ... ... maka ingon unya ang mga motorists nga nag tinarong ... that the rich truckers are exempted from the laws against impunity in the streets of our Mandaue ...

Fraternity helps Mandaue get rid of wall graffiti 11/27/2012
WALLS defaced by graffiti in Mandaue City may soon get cleaned with the help of outreach efforts of a fraternity.
Members of the Tau Gamma Phi started painting graffiti-marred walls i in the main streets of barangay Guizo last Saturday.
Nognog Angeles, one of the leaders of the fraternity also known as Triskelions' Grand Fraternity, said they will mobilize the group's 14 chapters in city for the clean-up.
Aside from restoring walls, the group is also cleaning clogged drainage and will donate a waiting shed in barangay Guizo.
The project of the fraternity is supported by the city government according to Jamaal James Calipayan, executive secretary of Mayor Jonas Cortes.
The city government is providing the group with paint, he said.
Calipayan said the city government suggested to the Tau Gamma to focus their campaign in the city center, like barangay Ibabao-Estancia and Alang-alang, aside from Guizo.
Calipayan said they are calling on other fraternities to join the campaign.

five years ago these fraternities were after each other's throats ... now after Mayor JONAS took responsibility for our Mandaue ... these fratmen are showing themselves to be GOOD citizen Mandauehanons ... ... now that's what i call GOOD leadership ...

ERUF breaks ground in Mandaue

CEBU, Philippines - The Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) broke ground for its new base yesterday at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

The groundbreaking ceremony came following the council’s approval for the use of a half-hectare lot owned by the city government without charge for five years.

Mayor Jonas Cortes, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony, is glad that ERUF is back in the city where it started.

ERUF was created during the reign of former Mandaue City Mayor Demetrio Cortes Sr., the incumbent mayor’s father, whose vision then was to create the “Best Rescue Unit in the country.”

Cortes said ERUF is located near the sea and near a helipad of the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC).

ERUF chairman Pek Eng Lim has thanked the city for its generosity.

He said that for years now, ERUF is known for its good service during calamities.

He said ERUF has several modern vehicles and state of the art rescue equipment.

“ERUF will not depend only on its workers and existing volunteers but rather much of its strength will come from fellow citizens who are willing and able to lend a hand on the event of an emergency so that others may live,” Pek Eng Lim said.

Herminio Cortes, the operations and training director of ERUF who is also the brother of Mayor Cortes, said ERUF has 60 volunteers which includes seven firetrucks, urban users, rescue vehicles, and other equipment donated by the Harlemmermer City in Holland.

The new site in the city is ERUF’s third base in the province.

It also has a base in Lapu-Lapu City and has another one in barangay Banilad, Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
