i don't think people are that naive (or dumb?) to upgrade to windows 10 just because it's new (or iPhone or whatnot).. once windows 10 was announced, there were reviews being presented, features being offered and, to each his own, saw these features are worth a try to upgrade, then they upgrade.. or at least i haven't encountered one person upgraded solely because it's new.. people i know asked and researched and then decided to upgrade (or not)..
I guess it's just naive also not to say or be aware of that some if not most people just want to upgrade just to be CURRENT. It's even a widespread fact in our society esp today's TRENDING culture.
Essentially though if we are talking about the real techies who really knows what's a practical application for their trade, or mainly using it as a tool, then it's a question of being naive (or dumb) or not.
But I'm not narrowing this frame of conversation just to that.... BUT rather, I am more focusing of what or how the general consumers paced themselves with this so called hyper-marketed capitalist based fast upgrades

alright.. sorry but honestly, i am having a hard time getting what you meant.. no offense meant but if i understood you correctly, i don't know where you get that data that "most people want to upgrade to be current".. yup, being new is part of the criteria why people upgrade but i just don't think that's the sole reason based from people i know, there should be other features that would entice them to try and upgrade..
