y is everyone so amazed with this mark tallo anyways? i've watched his games and it seems nga pareho rani cya ug ending sa uban nga cebuano hs/college stars nga ni transfer sa manila nya nahimo ug bench player sa pba. murag wla na guro lain cebuano player nga mosunod ni dondon ron sa pba.

I guess that is why there is fascination. So few Cebuanos have succeeded on the big stage. We want the next big thing to come along so we can find a local hero to cheer for. I guess Greg Slaughter will have to do bisan dila siya homegrown Cebuano.

Btw I had an interesting conversation today. Outside of the games (FMC, Fil-Oil, and Dubai exhibition) and training in the US Macmac only got in 5 full practices with this year's Team A. Real practice running/memorizing plays, etc. Not the scrimmages he participated in the early part of 2011 with some of the season 73 champs.

IMHO not even remotely close enough to give anyone PT. Even though those FMC/Fil Oil games are "not as important" as the UAAP Coach Norman still wants to do well in those games/tournaments. Handing over the reins to a rookie PG, who has only had 5 practices with the Team A (Probably even less because the 5 counts the period right before he went AWOL as well) for any period of time would be foolhardy. Just to add. Coach Norman purportedly has 64 offensive plays for the Team. Any coach would expect that his PG should know most of them pretty well before he gets any PT. How many did MacMac memorize already?

Why did it take so long for the documents (that never got there btw) the Ateneo Team officials requested for to complete Macmac's enrollment to arrive. I was told that as far back as late-April (not so sure) sige na pangayo ang Ateneo pero sige sila gi-balibad sa mga Tallo. I'm sure there is a very good explanation. basin na dugayan lang sa clearance sa HS requirements ang bata? I would just like to know what the official line is from the Tallo's. Some of the people from ADMU are still confused ngano dugay kaayo. At least if you clarify that here I can enlighten them and at least that part can be laid to rest.

Can you also ask how his free throw shooting is coming along? I heard the Blue Eagle free throw shooting-end of practice drill was particularly hard for him to master. "6 sets of 3" I think is what it is.

Based on the early reports on this issue, i remember Norman Black saying that Tallo was having a hard time getting used to the system ... ( now i can probably say this system involved knowing how to run these offensive sets) .. We all know that tallo is used to the run and gun (intrams) type of system so this could have been a big factor on why he was not given playing time or why he decided to leave admu.

Correct. That has been speculated upon and makes sense. However I have been called out and called bobo2 for such speculations. I have made small talk with people who are in the know and have come up with more substantial details. I have presented these here now so that they can be asked/confirmed by the people who back the Tallo's/claim that my speculations are false. However they instead keep side-stepping and instead of answering on defense have chosen to take the offensive (Coach Black-Hoarding), I guess to confuse the issue. Very similar to what Mr. Tallo did, instead of just saying di mi mu-sakto sa systema sa ADMU, they blame Coach Black for the lack of PT and call him a liar.

I happen to be friends with Tiff Atendido, DLSU's Courtside Reporter this year (she was also UE's CSR back in 2009 when the Pulang Mandirigma made the Finals vs Ateneo). Anyway, I asked her for updates on Mac-Mac and here's what she said.





I don't want to jinx Mac-Mac but I think it's safe to say as it is we have a slight reason to be excited about his debut come next year.

iam actully seeing why he Norman decided that way they're winning with the rookies (slaughter and ravena) Ravena knows the system well IQ is way up there... Ateneo wants to win and they're winning last game they re down the whole game the clinched it in the end because of the playmaking ko ravena he is an impact already... It would have took MAc2x awhile if he waited... but he also fits La Salle system well Next year it would be a good match up..

Good to hear Macmac is doing well. I have continually wished him well in his career. You don't have to go to your source. Daghan makuhaan sa box scores sa FMC. While you are researching that you can research how a non-hyped PG like Monfort was also dominating the FMC but was not elevated to Team A until he was ready. Now Eman is one of the top5 PGs in the UAAP. Patience, hard work, and good attitude lisud good pangitaon sa good players.


I'm just asking for clarification para ma undang na kining mga speculation na tinuyo kining pagka AWOL. People like me will continue to speculate on what happened until proven otherwise. It will continue to produce a bad image for the Tallos. The dad does not have a clean image in bball circles (as a coach at least).

Let me continue to speculate........

Imagine musugod na the next day ang skuwela/orientation seminar para sa mga Freshman, wa gihapon kahatag kumpleto mga dokumento for enrollment mga Tallo........... Pero basin lang they wanted Ateneo to be the one to line-up sa HS ni Macmac to pay for clearance fees, certified true copy sa mga transcripts, etc.

Imagine naa na diay ticket pabalik sa Cebu even before that conversation with Coach Norman around the Mapua game.......... Pero basin lang nag-advance booking lang sila sa CebPac para mas barato ang ticket.


Imagine kung if you actually ask them these questions (and the others I have continually asked).........Pero basin hadlok ka mapalpal kung di ka mu-sidestep.

practice game lang naa ang Father Martins.. dili man ina major league ... mas ok pa ang UniGames kesa sa FMC.. let's wait till nextyear if nasa Team A na si Mac Mac.. as of now, he's nothing but a reserve player... Let's wish him the best
