@browniies; What's your custom ROM, kernel, cpu settings, and installed scripts (a2sd, etc.)? I own a P500 myself, using the latest CM7.2 by FitAmp (I reverted back to GB for stability and battery life), default CM kernel overclocked to 729MHz, using Mounts2SD as my a2sd script (on a class 4 16GB sdcard with a 2GB sdext partition and a 1GB swap), with CrossBreeder for tweaks. Launcher is Holo Launcher, and I've got over a hundred apps installed. It's been super stable for me, no hangs or significant slowdowns whatsoever. Then again, I'm not a gamer, so I don't go playing any games on this thing. If you're experiencing issues, it could be because of your setup.

@Syd_M; i just had my phone factory reset ky na hassle nako sa cge nya ug lag
did not even back it up kay gikapoy gyud ko. just back to the basics but my phone is still in a rooted condition..
    how to unroot it?

  3. #253
@browniies; You should be able to unroot using the same method you used to root; ie. you can use SuperOneClick to unroot if you used that to root, or if you used Gingerbreak to root, you can use that to unroot, too. Alternatively, you can use KDZ to flash to stock, which would also unroot, but I personally don't recommend it as there's a high chance of bricking your device with KDZ.

That said, I would recommend not bothering to unroot (since root by itself does not affect performance) but instead, flash a stock P500 ROM via your CWM recovery. There are a list of stock ROMs here: [REPOSITORY]P500/P509 Stock ROMs[.zip] - xda-developers ; I suggest v20i. That way, you have the stability of stock while still keeping your options open.

Well, good luck, @browniies! If you or your friend ever need assistance with that, you can contact me either here or on XDA in the Optimus One forums (same username). I'm more often on XDA, though, so it's probably better there, not to mention there are other users there who'd be able to help, too.

root does not make a phone "hang"...either a half ass'ed root or the rom set up.

Yeah, it is. I'm just too lazy to repartition it again, especially since my sdcard is full (with over 12GB of data). I'll probably repartition it once I replace it with a 32GB one.

    you wont really know.
    possibly the phone got virused.
so it's still a possible reason..

Android phones don't get "virused", at least not the way a PC does, so you can rest easy on that end. While malware for Android does exist, more often than not, it requires user intervention in order to get installed and do its dirty work. If you're concerned about malware, simply installing and running one of the many antivirus/security center apps on the Play Store should help. I recommend Dr Web (light) since it's very resource-friendly, which is a must on our phones.
