    @kwakie-
    I know from reliable political & business circles' sources that former Mayor Boy Cortes' a good man and had served as mayor of Mandaue City well and with honor and dignity.
    Doing business in Mandaue during his time was done through a handshake. There was never any doubt that he'll renege on any promises made, be it asphalting, garbage or drainage problems. And giving business people a hard time (re: getting a business permit) was unheard of. But when the Ouano regime started- it was unlike any other.

    Re: *** -lies - relationships -
    In your reply to "turiki" you failed to mention the much ballyhooed talk (I believe there was even a tv conference there) about the alleged relationship between Teddy Ouano and his daughter-in-law Cheryl. Cause if there's some truth to it, Teddy Ouano is not only corrupt where politics/ business is concerned but morally sick as well.
    Personally, a friend of mine who's a classmate of Cheryl in her fitness class informed me that when the story broke, most if not all believed it and I guess it's because action speak much2x louder than words. Would like to hear your comment on this.

    I sincerely hope Jonas will win this coming elections so he can bring back the pride Mandauehanons had in their mayor and city once more.
    Just ignore the idiots here with nothing constructive/good to say.
    Good luck and best wishes in your campaign !

    Bai, Garlic, palihug kono ug pangutana ni Lollipop o si Cheryl ba hinoon kong para unsa nang membership fee nga kinhangan bayaran para mapirmahan sa mayor ang buildiing o occupancy permit. Libog kaayo ko ani kay sige lang pangayo anang membership fee pero walay resibo ihatag. Membro ko ug usa ka grupo nga wala ko kahibaw ug unsa ang ngan o unsa ang kapuslanan. Palihug lang kono ug susi ani kay daghan sad ko nabati-an nga ubang negosyante sa Manaue nga gareklamo bahin ani. Dili lang ako ra. Sige, pa-apila imong mga agaw ug explikar ani. Mas maayo gani unta kong si Lollipop o si Cheryl gyud mismo ang motubag. Ayaw ug dagan aning akong pangutana ha!

    Mango, during Papa Boy's time way before Mandaue became a city. He had a special deal with businessmen. Papa Boy encouraged/lured the buisnessmen to bring thier business to Mandaue in exchange for tax break as long as they would employ Mandauehanons. That is why Mandaue boomed even before it became a city. City hall was never corrupt and people go home satisfied. City hall was efficient and friendly then. It didn't matter whose side you were on City hall was open to anyone.

    I try to stay away from that topic. I've heard about it from different sources. I think its vile. I was tempted but chose to stay away. I cringe everytime someone brings the subject up. Lood giod kaayo paminawon.

    I do try to ignore them. LOL

    Thanks Mango, I aprreciate your kind words. Peace!

    In fairness, I don't think there is any truth to the supposed affair between Ted and Cheryl. If there was, I don't think Lollipop and Cheryl would be that close.

    Despite being accused of siding with the Corteses, I personally know the Ouanos.

    just my two centavos worth.
