From what I know based on my readings, age of RES is less a determining factor than its body length. Normally, by the time its body length reaches 6 inches, it is ready to lay eggs. I think realcrow was able to successfully breed his RES. You may want to inquire from him too. Check the link below

    Default My Sulcatas

These are my phenomenal veggie crunching machines - sulcata tortoise.

The smaller tortoise eat like crazy and the bigger tortoise eat like there's no tomorrow

They are 10 months old (going 11) but they consume a pile of veggies bigger than their body size.

    While strolling one day:

resting under the glades of green grass

    The more active tortoise

peeping in the small crevice in search for FOOD WONDERFUL FOOD!

This is the tortoise table specially made for them

A closer look: The white light is the source of their UV while the yellow light is for basking

This hole leads to their hiding place where they can sleep

After a good nights sleep... going out from hiding in search for FOOD WONDERFUL FOOD!

Their favorite place where they play and bask.

Thank's jez. I don't think growth rate has something do to with their gender. Mura nag tawo.. some babies have bigger appetites than others irrespective of their gender.
