Justice secretary Raul Gonzalez suggested that players who intentionally hurt other players should be slapped with physical injury charges.
PBA commish befuddled at suggestion to files charges against "physical" players
The league has enough rules to police physical play, Philippine Basketball Association commissioner Sonny Barrios assured Monday in response to a report that the government would push for the filing of criminal charges against basketball players who commit hard fouls during games.
Justice secretary Raul Gonzalez said in two separate radio reports that he would recommend for the PBA to file physical injuries on players who intend to hurt their opponents in a game that is widely accepted as "physical" in nature.

San Miguel and Ginebra will be playing minus key players sidelined with injuries and a suspension. Mike Cortez will not play for SMB while Mark Caguioa and Junthy Valenzuela for Ginebra due to injuries while Ronald Tubid will not be seeing action for a suspension.
Coca Cola on the other hand will be playing without head coach Binky Favis. Kenneth Duremdes and Gerard Francisco will be taking over Favis in the Tigers' game against Sta. Lucia.
