Final Charge to Timothy
11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14 to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
GOD do has an Image
we are even created in GOD's own
image.
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
the verses do not contradict with each other bai, it only shows that we can't go word for word and literal on the graven images prohibited in Exodus.
cause atong panahona, grabeh kaayo ang polythiesm/pagan worship, pag himu ug mga imahe sa mga mananap or mga mythical gods para simbahon..as you can see or hope you can see dili ni maoy gibuhat sa mga Catholics
mao bitaw suko kaayo si moses atong golden calf nga gihimu sa mga israelites in thinking nga di na kanaog si moses sa mt.sinai
the catholic church images somehow, first are not worshiped
second referece are the verses that shows the Lord allows making statues or images for His purpose alone..
third, the images we see in the Catholic churchs are not for the purpose of being worshipped, but as a representation.
kust like the cherubims of the OT, the images moses was instructed to make for healing as a channel of God's power..
of course God's power is not restricted with channels while channels are not restricted as demeaning God's power as well.

the images somehow channels God's power, just like how someone feels peace after seeing an electric post which resembles the cross of Jesus.
personally, i do not do that but i don't have problems with it either.depende lang sa conviction, i'm open with it as well
depende na sa mga tao, it's how their faith goes, we have different ways of venerating Saints and showing how we value God.
with regard to pahid2x as worship, say pagpahid sa imahe ni Jesus
it doesnt necessarily mean the devotee worshiped the image it only shows deep reverance of the one who is portrayed in the image..
same thing happens when we miss a loved one so much to the point we kiss thier photographs.

Actually, I am one of those people who would really like to listen. But if there are those who would not agree, please also listen and explain to them if they erred from the truth.
"Smiling face of God"....huhhh. Actually, there it also says in the bible that we can reason together. Even Apostle Paul has debated for the truth. I know debate, doesnt determine whose wrong and right. But since we know we dont know everything, if that is the way to know the truth, then lets give chance for others to express their opinions. Good thing in here di jud ta magpangabot kay kung gaatbangay pata, naa najud siguroy gasumbagay na nato. Hehehe. So us charge and defend our faith politely nalang.
Di sad siguro na compromising bro oi....that is a liberal interpretation of those who have read the bible. We read books from different sources, because we also need help from them. We gather information and accumulate it. As saying goes "eat the meat throw the bones". If you interpret, it should not be bias. Guess what, kaming mga non RCC dinhi comes from different groups.what's compromising is when we point fingers and put labels when we ourselves are not entirely sure if what we say is what Jesus had in mind..
mao bitaw cge ko pangutana ni breakeven, or this will apply to those who want to answer..
kanang inyong interpretation on certain scriptures depicting contrary to RCC, sure jud mu nga mao nay naa sa huna-huna sa atong Ginoo?
some people want to discredit the papacy to debunk Apostolic Succession through conspiracies, interpretation ug unsa pa na dihang uban from anti catholic perspective...
would you call that reaching out?
Ang interpretation man gud bura ka anag naghimo ug balay, kung hiwi gani ang balay makamatikod jud ka kung hiwi ba o dili. So kung makabantay gani ka nga sayop ang interpretation, pwedi man me nimo correctionan unya give us the correct interpretion.
Aw ok. Ganiha ra ba ka ga pray diha Bro?Heheheh... Joke lang. Bitaw...Lets pray the Lord will remove whatever veil we may have in us.this goes for all of us, sometimes we may wanna step back and pray rather than pressing ideas.
Atong e-han ay Bro ha.
Exodus 20:4
"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below
Acts 17:29
"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone--an image made by human design and skill.
Romans 1:23
and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles
Ex 25:17-19
17“Make an atonement cover of pure gold—two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. 18And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. 19Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends.
Okay, in Ex 20:4, I wish to ask
where is Heaven that GOD dwelt Bro?
Can you see it from up above, tan-awa kuno kung
unsay imong makita, it's the sky, followed by the earth and the waters,
meaning anything in this world.
In Acts 17:29, It is only mentioned there the value of GOD is much more
the value as that of things that we consider as valuable her on earth.
In Romans 1:23,
Heres the other chapters.
18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
It mentions about,
creating other God rather than GOD.
Cows maybe.
So the verses Exodus 20:4,Acts 17:29, and Romans 1:23
clearly specifies that we should consider GOD above all things
and that GOD is the only GOD that we should glorify and we should should not create another God.
Ex 25:17-19
Fulfilled it.
