Some school officials need to wake up and smell the 21st century. Bikinis aren't lewd. Heck, smoking might be bad for you but it's not illegal.

People just need to chill the f out. It's a let go situation. They shouldn't have made a big fuss out of it.

    some excerpts from sunstar.
"the National Youth Commission (NYC) “implored (STC) to uphold its values by allowing the concerned student to attend her graduation rites, being one of the most important days of every student’s life."

"The commission said the school used academic freedom as “an excuse to impinge on the personal rights and freedom of their students."

The school principal allegedly called them “addicts, drunkards, and cheap.”

"DepEd Central Visayas officer-in-charge Carmelita Dulangon said the case should serve as a reminder for schools to revisit their student manuals and for students to always be careful in what they post online"

this is one of the reasons why i moved out of being a christian. because of these unreasonable extremists.
if faith lang storyahan, naa rna sa person. church is just a place to pray
and if bible ila storyahan, kay christian ways man jud daw. where in the bible does it state nga bawal mag bikini
if its about "what youre wearing is suggesting", then it is subjective/objective. kung malisyado kaayo kag utok, then ikaw ang naay problema. with todays' society, bikinis are FAR FROM EXTRA ORDINARY!!
STC sure got a face palm by the judge's ruling. and i cant say im sad for them

im with the school with this one.

    reason(s):

during enrollment period, aspiring students have to read some rules and regulations and its following sanctions.
next if they have read that, they will have to sign that like a contract of agreement that during the entire school year of that student, he/she will not break any rule and if she do, he/she knows the sanctions that will be applied against his/her violation.
if you dont sign that, you won't be enrolled or accepted in school

much like the CoA of softwares right?
so i believe the school has the right to expel such student even if he/she is a graduating one.

now, in the case of this girl. she maybe having a hard time being accepted to any catholic schools for college.
most catholic schools have their own network of information. and most of the best schools in cebu are catholic ones.
so going to RTC and being favored may make the other catholic and/or non-catholic schools wary of this behavior and reaction of the student and her parents.

    ++++++++++++++++
even if its the 21st century, i still dont want, if that's my kid, to go smoking/drinking in that age.

i know we have mixed feelings or sides with this.

Walay mawala sa madre kay mga tao ra man pod na sila but as the people who runs the school , they have all the right to execute , uphold and implement policies that protects the interest and integrity of the institution .

Karon ug base sa accusations na tungod di maka graduate ang girl because of the LEWD PICS ... then wala unta ni skwela ang girl sa STC ... didto unta siya sa UC , UV , CIT , ABELLANA or any school that is not run by Catholic nuns .

Dili man lisod ang i impose ang moral intawn oi . Thats why its moral because its what is ACCEPTED based from what is RIGHT and WRONG .

Karon based sa links na pod sa news na the contents of the said pictures are LEWD and she is holding a LIGHTED CIGARETTE , tell me ACCEPTABLE ba na for a 16 year old girl.

And like I said , daginuton pa ba na sa mdre kung wala silay PROBABLE CAUSE ? By just wearing a swimsuit maski 2 piece pa na as long as it was shot in good taste and does not promote any illicit and sends the wrong emssage , wala man problema . I even know sisters from the strictest congregations na naa sila sa dagat wala man sila ga habit gani .

    COrny nman ni STC

issue a teener in a two-piece bikini swimwear in a family beach outing. para mas favor altough alledgely sige naa redhorse ug "LIGHTED CIGARETTE" involve ang 16 year old girl sa pics. Unsa man conclusion ni daghan comment but unsa man COMMENT SA FAMILY sa girl ha take note ang family sa girl is ni good standing in rank and stature mga profesionals ni doctors pa gani
dili daw lewd or moraly unacepptable. WHy we dont know ,only but the mother and whole family must have a thousand reasons for it. Pictures dont tell everything we could only guess maybe it could be just a stage play
holding a beer or cigarette in pics does not mean one is using it, althought we really dont know i take the weight of the mother and the whole family stand on so called morality than what the nuns in stc are barking about.

OT just because the are priest or nuns they have the moral high ground , remember the issue of condoms and other family planning methods ha bad daw ni sa in bad immoral and you will burn in hell daw.

And sa issue on then wala unta ni skwela ang girl sa STC ... or any school that is not run by Catholic nuns.they have all the right to execute , kay naa policies that protects the interest and integrity of the institution.

yeah but but were are in the Republic of the Phillipines, these are not Republic of Saint Theresa's College or Christian Republic of the Philippines any polices or rules of any school or institution are subservient to the constitution
of the RIP diba if the school policies is a violation of the constition which guarantee are freedoms they should be the one to close not the other way around.

as much i dont want to muddle the issue let's get real the nuns dont realy like a swimsuit like a two-piece bikini , even local taliban mullas politician here dont like it.

for me a LEWD PICS is a nude pics even those greatleanardo nude painting is lewd for me but a two piece bikini is not lewd ,bisan unsa pa mga acrobatics positon. Its how your mind plays on you it's not about open minded or not being modern backward if you have dirty mind even burqa or hijab will be illicit for you .

now we have an intersting update , "student called by high school principal... 'sluts', 'addicts', 'drunkards' and 'cheap'" tsk tsk
