    ‘GMA will finish her term’

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is politically secure with or without Charter Change and will be able to complete her term, Malacañang said yesterday.

Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye laughed off political opposition claims that Mrs. Arroyo was backing a shift from a presidential-bicameral to a unicameral-parliamentary system to ensure her political survival.

“Contrary to her detractors’ claims, the President’s political fortunes are not tied to Charter Change,” Bunye said.

“She will serve out her term till 2010, for which she was duly elected.”

Cha Cha is not the solution to the crisis. Its only vigorously campaigned now by Glue-ria Arroyo lackeys to cleanse her illegitimacy and at the same time made her Prime Minister for life.

You have witnessed how the majority could tyrannically overwhelm the minority with numbers. There are no principles only vested interest! It will make our problem worse.

Can you just imagine? Politicos become Cabinet Minister at the same time? What do they know about health, environment, fiscal management, education? These are politicians elected not because they are qualified but because they have guns, golds and goons.

we have experienced parliamentary system under the Marcos regime and it did not solve our country's problems. Opting for a parlimentary form of government would mean handing to the trapos our right to determine the future of our country. It would empower trapos to abuse their power to the detriment of the national interest.

Look, they even forged the signatures of the people's initiative in their desire to shrtcut the process. What motivates them to do that? I dont think its for the common good. Its for their OWN SELFISH GOOD!

For now, I think it's better na i-set lang ang cha-cha as the last resort.

The problem is not in the constitution itself. It's in the people running the government. There are other more important social problems na mas kelangan pa og bigger/immediate attention.
