im fine with the March 1-15 period for the pictures to be taken. In fact, Im all for it and was the one of the people who suggested it. Unfortunately, the theme for March was set simply for the trip that was planned (which was an official IPC activity although primarily attended by a lot of IPC fotogs). In fact, if we want to be very technical about it, the theme was for NORTH, not SOUTH. Also, it would not allow the IPC members who were not able to join the trip (due to whatever reasons they may have, valid or not) to take part in the contest. It would somehow also seem that the instead of having the period from March1-15, it now became a 1-day shooting opportunity since only the people who attended the trip can submit fotos (since planning a a south trip just to join the contest does not make sense economically).
Im just opening up this issue so that it can be addressed during the meeting to have a possible resolution on it such as exemptions to the rule in case the theme is based on a shoot, and not the 2-week period or to come up with themes that does not limit the members to submit fotos based on the shoot. Like for April, the theme could simply be "BIKINI shots" or something. It does not necessarily have to be shots taken from the planned fotoshoot only since Im sure not all can join as well. This would still allow other members to submit entries despite not being at the fotoshoot. Or whatever other suggestion you guys might have. I know ine still has some flaws in it but those are just spur-of-the-moment thoughts (so lets not argue with my suggestions ha kay)
Lastly, Im not sour graping or even planning to win the contest. But it's nice to submit your fotos and to motivate one to have his shots printed as well to hear the comments and criticesms from the advisors and other fotogs so we can also learn.
Again, looking forward to tomorrow's meeting so we can address all our concerns and lay to rest once and for all, the rules governing IPC.
