Went to Simala yesterday, Mingaw kaayo didto. Talked with the ladies who were selling candles. They said the Monks went out to a retreat. They denied the allegations and that they were exaggerated. After the visit we bought bottled waters in one of the stores just outside the gate, the ladies there knew that there was a gay pageant held inside but it was just for fun and everyone was invited to see. It was nothing daw. "Lingaw lingaw lang gud"

maayo kay something good comes out from the scandal:spiritual retreat sa mga monghe! faith has to be purged from all humanly motivations and selfish interests, " like gold in a furnace", ingon pa ang psalmista. kay sa akoang tan-aw, ang maayong tubag sa mga isyu nga init kaayo ug nag-orus orus, pangamuyo ra jud!

reading through the posts,daghan na nuon mga issues nga giapil apil ngari .. mura na nuon ni nga akusado tanan, labi na ang mga pari. and this forum should not be used to accuse anybody, without proof, even to naming that said person:here, quoting "si msgr binghay gay"! how can msgr protect himself from this here? how can he refute this? kung dunay evidence ang nag post ani: then show it.otherwise shut up and please don't name names. this forum should not become an instrument to destroy the reputation of msgr Binghay or any other ..I hope a law will be enacted to include posts from forums like this one to be included as evidence in court .. we are not immune from the law here!

forums like these have been subject to abuse by users. I might be even guilty of that myself in a few instances...sumala gud, unsa may nahitabo sa mga Garcia diri? unsa may nahitabo sa kaso ni Miguel diri? unsa may nahitabo ni Mike Rama diri? ni Soon-Ruiz ug uban pa?

I totally agree. these people like Msgr Binghay cannot reply here to refute these allegations themselves. they cannot complain if they are named names here. it's either they don't know forums like these exists or didn't find their names being maligned in the internet. if u come to notice, if u google somebody being on the topic in this forum, mogawas ang particular thread sa istorya.net sa google list...this forum should not become an instrument to destroy or maim the reputation of people in question.

it may be because real identities of forumers can hide themselves using the cloak of their aliases. but then again, as civilized persons, we should be responsible to what we say here. a law? i think we already have one. I even think it was explained by a lawyer in an article about facebook comments about the Miguel case.

so I suggest the mods should add another house rule that can address this abuse problem by forumers.

anyways, back to the topic, i don't agree w/ the argument that the complaint should have been addressed first to the church hierarchy. the church can be given a copy of the complaint but it should've been addressed first to the police authorities. media mo follow rana after ky abtik baya kaayo na cla ug balita. why? Some priests i think were also subject of the complaint. besides, the issue is criminal in nature. alleged pedophilia, unlicensed guns, and pangilad are things criminal in nature. so to speak, basin masangit ra nya sa simbahan ang complaint and silenced just like any other clergy abuse out there. maayo rba kaayo motabon ang simbahan sa ing ana.

besides, dili mana mga santos ang mga pari, cardinal, etc. tawo raman pud na cla nga makiha just like any ordinary citizen out there...

On the issue lang of homosexuality....

Can anyone explain what the official stand of the church is on the issue of homosexuals?

From theology, akong understanding is that it is referred to as an "objective disorder"
As I understood it... homosexuality itself is not a sin but is an objective disorder in that it may lead to homosexual acts (which the church considers sinning)... so being gay is not a sin... but doing gay acts is sinning... pa clarify lang ani if I understood it correctly.

Therefore, if calling someone gay is considered maligning, defaming someone... does that mean then that being a homosexual is something that should not be allowed if someone wishes to serve the church?

Is being a homosexual (not homosexual acts ha) a sin?

if yes, then how come the church tolerates gay people in its congregation and even holds gay pageants?

If no, then calling a church official gay is not considered maligning or defaming him... unless anyone here has any bias against gay people....

Let the moderators do that part nalang, magmingaw ning istorya.net ug ingon ana na ta ka righteous permi diri sa atong mga posts diri. para dili ni sila mahisgutan mga sikat nga tawo sa Cebu, let them behave. bro, name names ... but present evidence! otherwise, literary methods provide ways to allude to a person otherwise put into question. I think we never know what injustice means until we become victims of it .. same is true here when we name names detirmental to the reputation of a person, without the benefit of proving otherwise by the person being maligned .. nakahinumdum ko sa nahitabo ni ted failon .. before grabe siya mo comment about this or that person .. after sa nahitabo sa iyang wife, when he became the victim of malignant comments, he learned and he realized .. karon okay na iyang approach sa mga issues about this or that person ..
